The essential phone doesn't carry anything which was essential and now they are adding new kind of adapter. :P

Look, a product which is considered as a standard feature for gadgets is being sold at your convenience, to use on your already expensive device.
The moral of the story: Don't purchase an expensive device that needs you to purchase a gadget that lower-end phones already have...
Unless you have too much money that you don't know what to spend it with.

Innovation of the year? I for one like their thinking, putting a headphone jack on a smart phone!

I love the community. These cuckolds forgot the statements Andy Rubin has made on Reddit!

He removed the jack to remove the potential bulge on a flawless Titanium & Ceramic phone. Essential PH-1 looked elegant. With that accessory to add the headphone jack, THAT IS 100% EXPECTED FROM ESSENTIAL all the way to what it looks like! I said it in a positive way.

An if you REALLY want you could get an M2S and use it as a Dac/Amp via a OTG cable from something like a V30 [I do this now with my V20] if the M0 also has the Cable Dac/Amp function than that's yet another advantage of it

And now give me one reason why not to buy Shanling M0 instead (100$).
It's AptX/LDAC, receiver/transmitter, it uses same DAC and probably the same amplifier as LG V30.
The essential adapter is a device for one phone, Shanling works with everything.

Or just OTG The Dragonfly ;)

So they create an add-on expensive kludge to fix an initial screw up of leaving out the 3.5mm jack in the first place.

Best scenario In my opinion. (Assuming there's a phone that has an accessory attaching system) the phone already has a headphone jack but it comes with another two for friends listening and exact tuning for all 3 jacks. THIS. WOULD. BE. SO. AWESOME!
