Slimmer profiles meet bigger batteries.

Important is not the capacity, but the software optimization must be improved. Android is still lacking behind iOS.

    i have a strong argument with THICK phones! there is no point of adding to the girth of a phone to make it last a bit longer! we have to push for a better battery technology that lasts longer! make slim phones and instead of adding to the memory and CPU power add the battery longevity!in that case in few years we are going to have phones with at lease a week of charge! the processors, cameras, memory and so on are very good for almost every task these days, so why don't we focus on battery life for some years and implement a better and more advance battery technology?!

      Fast charging is not a solution, becase it also wear it faster. Most of fast charging methods cut battery life in half, and because today we plug our phones to charger few times per day we just wear it even more, especially when most of user dont charge it fully and phone for many weeks or even months is always between 30-70%

        Phone with IP58 and replaceable battery. So implementation si possible, just that it increases cost.
        Manufacturers dont want you to have replaceable battery, coz it hampers their sales. As simple as that. These days, you tend to buy new phone, instead of replacing the battery. Good for them.

          It is more likely intentional, so people upgrade their expensive phones every two years.
          Notice that the cheaper/slower phones usually have larger batteries.

What you call "one day" is actually one day with certain usage, not in every scenario.

            And besides, as few of us mentioned, even if you can last exactly a day, it will only be until it starts degrading an year later (Or even sooner) ad then you'll still not have enough juice. And the smaller the battery is, the sooner it will significantly degrade. If you barely make it through the day, that's 1 charge cycle every day. If you get home with 50% left, that's 0.5 cycles.

              Guys.. mAH is deceiving, it alone does not measure how long the phone last!

              For example.. 4000 mAH, means it can supply 4000 mA for 1 Hour before completely drained.

              Now for example you have 4000 mAH with a phone that requires 8000 mA to run.. it will drain completely in 30 mins!

              So its actually depends on how much the circuit uses.. what parts the OEM picks.. that optimize the consumption.

              So best is concentrate on GSMArena battery life tests as "battery size" vs slim of phone.

              I prefer 1 day battery life, the rest can be slim phone. I do not need a "nuclear reactor" phone.

                I think that we are ready to accept a certain size of handset i.e. below a certain thickness, we really don't mind it being any thinner, but we do notice battery limits more readily. I have an iPhone 8 and encase it in a battery case: the thickness is still perfect, there's a solid case around it and I have a solid two days of heavy use battery life.

Cause most of us here obviously not people with low self-esteem who think their phones are a show-off tool. And besides, how many non-fashionable phones there are? Among flagships, especially, there is 0.01% real smartphones and not fashion toys. So obviously we don't need more of that - we already got more of that than we need.

                  And carying a huge power bank "compensates" multiple times for the slim/light phone. Certainly not "fashionable" and definitely not practical.

                    What kind of idiotic question is that? Bigger battery of course! Let the shamesung and apple sheeps enjoy their tiny batteries.

                      I want bigger replaceable batteries. At least 6000 mAh should be fine. I don't mind if the phone is 1 cm thick.

                        Better to have bigger ones. Mate 10/Pro and P20 Pro are one of the best enduring flagship phones out there, while preserving the sexiest looks.

                          There needs to be some kind of innovation in battery technology.
                          We have come up a long way - resistive to capacitive touch, 240p to 4k display, flat to curved to notched display, 4gb ROM on flagship to 4gb RAM on budget, 0.3mp on a flagship to 20mp dual camera on a budget, press and hold for unlock to fps and facial recognition - and yet the battery tech remains almost the same. The only place where innovation seems stagnant.
                          We have reached a point where every single smartphone on the world is 'almost perfect' and 'totally usable', with each smartphone being just slightly better than the other. If somr major battery innovation comes up anyday, that would potentially be the "dream smartphone" for a majority on the planet.

                                  large, replaceable battery - this one feature is basically why i'm considering a moto z phone despite it being not a great value in other respects. i can double the battery size using the phone + battery mod. i can replace (half) of the battery. the phone's battery will wear down less.

                                    The question is, if your mobile lasted a full day, you would want a bigger battery or better form. I guess most of the audience missed the 'If it lasts a day' part. If it last a full day, even after using for 2 years, i would definitely move my focus to functionality and beauty. Max 4-5years is how long someone would use a Smartphone.

                                      Bigger battery =/= longer usage / standby time
                                      Slimmer phone = slimmer phone!

                                      Normally companies are able to slim down, while increasing usage / standby time on the same class product.
                                      For people who change brands often, they will have a hard time to judge.

                                      Different OS / launchers drain battery differently. Some cramp a large battery, but OS is not efficient.. drain it faster then a slim phone... and heats up like a oven.

                                      I go for slim phone, efficient OS. Battery can be resolve with a power bank.
