This things cost way higher than any other Chinese brand with the same specs but no pop-out camera system (and more bezel obviously).

Damn, the internal space wasted by the motorized system is huge. No wonder they are doing this in 6+ inches phablets.

Like them sliders or not - but they indicate the transition from notched phones, that have no added value, to phones which feature something truly worthwhile, whatever it may be. I still think turning your phone like the mi mix or move that chin up from the bottom like that alcatel 5 is the best thing on the market right now.

You can expect some companies to come with under screen sensors, and that is also the future, but anyone who is not notch-lover got to prefer sliding cameras. Seeing votes I guess some would love notch/bezels more instead as for most companies its the only alternative. Its really sad 😢 what happened?

Android Consultor, 01 Jul 2018I'll explain. If was Apple doing that, the people and fans ... moreIf it were apple then it would have been brought to the attention of more people, people would say its cool, and the rest would complain about the moving parts, so its basically going to be the same outcome, but with more people involved.

1. Remove the case
2. Wait for the camer... moreWhat case? If you buy a good looking phone you don't put it in a case. If the brand you buy is so flimsy it breaks from regular usage, find a new brand.
And yes, the camera literally pops up and down in about 0.5 seconds on the Find X.

Anonymous, 01 Jul 2018Sliders and notch are both a hassle. Just bring back bezels... moreI agree, although the bezelled phones are still in the market, they haven't gone anywhere, the bezelless sliding mechanics are only for the rich and privileged selfie addicts.

This poll is so 50 50 lol.
Obviosly the sliders are a lot more trouble than the benefits they bring to the table.
First of all having any moving parts is minus in build quality since those are the most likely to get damaged.
Second of all it takes extra time to open the camera. You might miss some important moment because of it.
Third of all it messes with water and dust resistance capabilities.
Also they use extra space than necessary for a particular component.
Overall it's pretty clear to me that they are not worth it and nobody can convince me that all screen design is that good.
I'd much rather have some bezel to put front facing speakers on it and have something to hold my phone when consuming multimedia or playing games.

Avan DR, 01 Jul 2018Oppo solution is better and coolerIts the same solution but on a larger scale, although it is 'cool', but I wouldn't say that I would be comfortable buying it.

I dare all of you who find the sliding mechanism "cool" and "awesome" to buy one of these phones. Lets see how many of you will do it.

Whackcar, 01 Jul 2018We all used to use phones without any water/dust resistance... moreMy favorite phone was K800i.
After 20000 shots camera cover needed to be fiddled with and forcibly pushed down to open the camera app.
Impressive, but I had to sell it because the camera wouldn't turn on eventually.
I don't like phones breaking down on me prematurely, it was in mint condition overall, just the camera.

They didn't test it in pockets, dusty, under drizzle, greased up from hands, or with booger stuck on it because Garry held the phone without washing his hands >.>

Anonymous, 01 Jul 2018According to Vivo the camera can elevate and retract up to ... more50,000 times is the amount of times they've tested the sliding hardware. That's not the amount of times it can be used. It won't stop working at 50,001 moves...
Same is the case with Oppo Find X. Although that one has been tested 300,000 times...
