Doesn't Xiaomi update their phones for longer? Even Redmi 1s was updated to latest iteration till last year although base Android maybe older.
Either way Google is trying to kill every device from before nought by pulling the plug on their app support.

TBH it has been over a month and oneplus is still fixing launch day bugs by adding more bugs with the patches to fix the existing ones...
And yeah we are approaching july and we are still on May security update...

That being said, isn't 3T supposed to get Android P update, as google releases next version in sept/october.

I think One+ needs to learn from Nokia.
Nokia played a master stroke by announcing most of it's line of phones as a part Android One program. Which means, the buyer is assured of updates on time, for at least 3 years ( 2 iteration of Android and 1 year of support). This may not make Nokia number 1 in terms of number, but it will surely be one of the preferred makes.
It's a known fact now that One+ is a sibling of OPPO VIVO, who are infamous for updates to their phones. One+ is surely effected by this image. Rather they should declare something similar to Android One. It will help them and instill trust in future buyers.

the only android maker i trust regarding updates is nokia. they are crazy fast when it comes to updates. my l brother's nokia 6 got android 8.1 long time ago. but i am still on android 8.0 on my galaxy s9.my next phone will be a nokia.

Google releases security patch every month and since the Nokia receives them every month makes them on of the most up to date phones in terms of security patch and not stuck with security updates every two months or even longer like other phones.

Now that cld well mean no Android P but likely it will get 8.1. Also 3T launched with Marshmallow so we got 2 major OS upgrades.

Anyone who buys a flagship is usually a person who wants cutting edge hardware and a 4 year old phone just won't cut it for them. I am a OP 3T user since the start and another year is the max I will be putting up with this phone.
