This is the first time when Nokia shows that they are at the bottom.About Asia being productive, lol,Asia is productive because NOKIA pay the employes with less money.Talking about Asia,it seems that they really took over the market(Htc,Samsung,Sony).Looks like nokia will represent only low-budget phones in the future.N8,N9 great dvices but with outdated non commercial soft...like win6 was.Nokia died after the last boom on the market with nokia 5800 xm.I hope you will be even a half of what nokia represented in the past...now HTC and Samsung forever!

Has nobody heard that Microsoft owns Nokia these days ?
After Nokia has been supplying 66% of the world's mobiles for nearly 20 years with excellent engineering and very reasonable pricing the only way that jealous MS can make any impression on the market is by destroying Nokia....obvious really.

Capitalism is a bitch.
I think you'd find that Nokia is one of the more socially responsible tech companies around
Here's an interesting site. It ranks global brands based on transparency, fairness, and how environmentally conscious they are :
NOKIA - 12/18 http://www.rankabrand.org/Nokia
Samsung - 5/18 http://www.rankabrand.org/Samsung
Motorola - 8/18 http://www.rankabrand.org/Motorola+Mobility
Apple - 8/18 http://www.rankabrand.org/Apple
HTC - 1/18 http://www.rankabrand.org/HTC
LG - 7/18 http://www.rankabrand.org/LGE

If nokia gone, it will b a big loss though especially for low-incomer. It is true nokia sux with high-end phone these days but for a mid-end and low-end phone, nokia dominate these markets. Even if u use gsmarena's phone finder and set the highest price to 150 euro, u can tell it yourself which one is a good phone.

Nokia going down and who cares?
They've screwed over their fans for years! You should be thanking Apple cause if it was not for Apple you'd still be using some N95 remake.
Are you a Nokia fan and want to buy a phone when it's released? Prepare to pay a "Nokia fan tax" they release their phones overpriced to screw over their loyal fans who will be the first to buy the phone, then in 6 month they lower the price and those that don't care about Nokia might pick it up.
N8 is still super over priced, 380 euro, Crazy! It should be 250 MAX!
Get lost Nokia!

Nokia did not have 2200 employees in Romania. They were at max 500 and the rest up to 2000 (sometimes) were "leased" from 3 companies which hired people for peanuts salaries. So it is not a big loss for the region. People were never rich there during Nokia stay.

[deleted post]here is where you're wrong (I mean you have no ideea at all of what you are talking about). Products from Romania was among the best of europe before '90. do some homework please and don't tell stories heard from others. the "capitalism" has killed the quality (more ... more ... more ... )

Well, I am from Romania, and I have to tell you that the Nokia factory there are 1950 employees that will lose their jobs, not 2200.

AnonD-1124, 29 Sep 2011About time Nokia started performing like a private firm and... moreCharity, you say? The Romanian Government offered to Nokia lots of facilities to invest in this country. So I think that it was a bilateral charity after all.
Nokia was wrong when decided to make low-end phones in Romania. Romanians, and other nationalities from Eastern Europe spend a lot of money on gadgets, so making smartphones would have been a better choice. To bad, Nokia was a great company once.

I also love how some people irrationally laugh at certain companies while sing praise to certain others, as if the demise of competition is somehow a good thing.
I don't know about you, but I rather have a robust competition in the market that allows for more choices and value.

Elop is a menace! If it's wasn't for his conservative, kiss-up-to-Microsoft decision, Nokia wouldn't be driven to the ground like this.

Nokia invested allot of money in cluj. Can't figure out why they give up on romania like that. The production cost are cheeper in china, but every time i had a nokia phone made in findland or europe i had no problem with it. It seems that nokia will try to cut down on spending money in all the wrong places.
Since it whas the best phone making company in the world they had it easy, now they can't make up theyr mind about anything. Symbian dead or alive? What's to happend with maemo, and w7 looks disapointing. Why didn't they embrace android i will never know. Now they have a big mess on theyr hand and still no good plan for the future.
Stick with you decition nokia to the end. Don't change your mind every year.
