From the front the two are going to be indistinguishable for most people.

I might switch from Note 8 to 9 just for the sake of it and because I really like the Note line.
I'm getting to the point where I can do 90% of my work without even turning on my laptop because the phone so powerful.

It will be a big fall for Samsung i think. Same same = boring.

A little bit boring. They have started (again) lagging behind the competition in terms of design. IPhone X and its copycats are looking definitely better.
I want to see (and buy) a truly bezel-less smartphone from Samsung.

keep it up because when you don't change people ask you to change and then you change people ask you why you change. that's life.

well, as a long time Samsung customer and honestly kind of a fan! i have to admit samsung's R&D department is a joke! they don't have anything new! they just wait for some other manufacturers to innovate and then they either buy it or copy it! just like apple! i mean why would someone pay top dollar for the same thing, they couldn't even fit the in display fingerprint reader! i mean how much of a difference does SD845 make over SD835 in real world experience! go check the battery endurance test of GsmArena S8+ has better ratings than S9+. people we have to stop forking out our hard earn money for the same boring handsets!

Years ago there was a joke about Apple simply adding an extra row of icons for the iPhone 5. Then the gag became, "if they keep doing this, the iPhone 10 should look like a light-saber."

Luckily Apple stopped and kept the proportions of their handsets reasonable. Samsung on the other hand believes the world needs a light-saber phone. Maybe the Note 15?

Of course its software was not the best, even for those times (tried custom roms after a month), but it was the sturdiest smartphone I ever had. This little motherf***** spent almost 3 years with me, drowned several times, got dropped countless times, got lost in snow for two nights, and everything worked! Only things I replaced in it was battery and back cover :D Now I have S7 and I REALLY miss my old pal. Or at least the ability to swap batteries :P
