OnePlus 6 scores a respectable 96 score from DxOMark, beats iPhone 8 Plus

17 July 2018
The final score topped the Galaxy Note8 as well. With a 100 on still photos, it also edges out the Pixel 2 (but loses in the video test).

LIRKER, 17 Jul 2018Am I the only one who trust DxOMark nowadays? :=|Ha ha....no, your probably not.

And I suppose am being a little unfair to DxO. All I would say is just do not take 'only' their word for it when it comes to camera performance.

Haha this is a absolute joke, i own a OnePlus 6 since pop up sale, my 1st gen Pixel XL takes better photos. Shows how bs dxomark is, after all it's a paid for service.

I felt like the Pixel 2 and Sony flagships found a good balance between image quality and the amount of noise. (Although Xperias tend to have quite a bit of noise on auto-mode.)

DxOMark scores have always been odd, IMO.

I was already untrusting this benchmarks since smartphone era was coming, they do only care about brand and money to bump their pinhole-sized sensor score.

Anonymous, 17 Jul 2018The Huawei P20 Pro says Hi xDP20 Pro uses a 1/1.7" quad bayer filtered sensor, which is worst compared to standard bayer filter, also they used high level of noise reduction so it actually waste the potential of a sensor at that big.
I've watched most of its low light performance, and i'm not sure if they're could beat even the standard bayer 1/2.3" sensor on every Xperia flagship (yes, sadly nowadays flagship are rarely go for large sensor, to "squeeze" the body).

The problem right now with DxO scores is that it include zoom funtionality that not all phones have, giving phones like the pixel a lower score than the P20 with a huge 5x zoom even if the quality is quite close in most cases...

Sad that a 1/2.55" sensor could go this high.
I only value high detail and dynamic range, so i would go for a larger sensor.
I hope there's a phone with larger sensor (maybe 1", don't mind with the thickness would be) with Google Camera-equivalent processing level.
