Apparently the Chinese love iPhone replicas and the Chinese oem deliver them.
Defending Nokia is like defending Motorola,everyone knows Motorola after being purchased by lenovo has gone downhill.
HMD might have some of Nokia's ex staff but not the ones that made Nokia great.

Look, you can all think what you want. Nokia is Finnish and it is not bad that they experiment the market by releasing different phones. Why should it be first in China? Because it is a huge phone market which is growing VERY quickly. Good ratings there = possibly good product. IDK why HMD/Nokia get all the hate but I think that they are doing a solid job. They released just 2 notched phones and you all complain thinking it's Notchia and it's the end of the world... Just a pity that most of you can't open your eyes.

If the build quality of this is on the level of the other HMD phones like the 6.1, this could be the best budget/mid-range phone this year. I would greatly prefer the 6.1/7 plus design to this notched one, but it still seems like an insane deal.

A budget version of Nokia X6. On the bright side that HD+ screen will make the battery last longer and the chipset is good enough for smooth gaming. This phone is more targeted for people who dont care much about lower resolution and just want performance.

It's a shame to see such a legendary phone maker become just like every other chinese OEM's copying what Apple does. When Nokia was number 1 on the phone market, these chinese OEM's like Oneplus, Oppo, Xiaomi, Vivo and even Huawei itself (a chinese telecommunications company with rich past but very young at phone making) didn't exist. Nokia created it's own style but it is inexistent today with all of it's phones being very similar to all these brands above. If Nokia want's to compete with Samsung or Apple it should develop it's own style at phone making, something distinctive like Lumia 950 XL which was a very good phone 3 years ago.

Comon Nokia, we want to see thoses phones (probably named Nokia 6 plus and 7 plus) in US, Can and EU. With low price thoses phones would sell like hotcakes.
