Samsung is planning to merge the Galaxy S line with the Note one

20 July 2018
This way the company will save on development money and make room for the flexible flagship.

Wise choice imo.

    Do It Samsung, Do it!

Vibe, 20 Jul 2018Samsung Galaxy Note S - it will be a nice name :)Samsung Galaxy Note S10 now that does not sound as great

I say its agood move and LG should do it too there G and V series are exactly the same since they removed second screen

I think its better if S series is normal one, and delete the S+ series..
So there will be one S and one Note.. i think it will be better...

Note 5 with built in memory only, and only a minor improvement over Note 4..i was terrible choice. Note 4 brought out Note Edge with it, with actually fuctional dual screen in formof edge screen.

There was no note 6...and note 7 blew up the scene...not in a good way. Note 8, for this and other reasons as well, did ok, but nothing great. Sammy's own s+ range eating up note users.

What the other guysi s saying that note 4 was last true note isn't far from the truth. Note 8 was good addition but rest of them were garbage

Actually they're the same phone except the S-Pen
My sister before a week bought the note 8 and I don't know if you guys have noticed it but I noticed that the display of the note 8 is flat with 1% edge which reminded me of the V30 second screen that comes in the software. The S series are the edge smartphones but right now Samsung couldn't perfect the accidental touches that happens to the edge sides of their smartphones, so they are they dropping the edge of their smartphones?? Because it looks to me they did with the note 8

hopefully they didn't merge UI lags from both phones.

The Note line really improved from the Note 5 on, and the Note 8 has been the absolute best.

they should stop making so called high end nonsense phones. super laggy and buggy phones - no wonder they will loose sales years by years - eventually they will merge every phone line and make android go phones and give excuse

Probably because there will be the foldable screen phone which will replace the Note.
Giving 3 flagships per year is weird so maybe that is why Samsung is merging S and Note series together.

that's a good decision from Samsung, i'm using note since note4, and note4 was the last true Note flagship mobile, ever since its just another S mobile with S Pen, I felt like Samsung is cheating with Note Loyal customers as we have to wait 6 months to launch new note series after S series and what we get is just a Pen and smaller battery.
combining S and Note series is good move. and yes it'll give extra room for Samsung to work on other devices like X.
there should be one flagship series, a S series with SPen is what I need.

Samsung lowering sales have to do with Samsung, not customers or the demand.

Samsung keeps enforcing unwanted super fragile curved screens with annoying glares, pretending this is an "advantage" (while it's a non-stop annoyance and programmed obsolesce really), and tries overcharging for it, raising already sky-high prices 10% every year (except this one maybe).

Galaxy Note 4 with flat screen was a great device for me, i stick to it as long as i could, but when it died i just could not see any offer from samsung that would resonate: S8/S8+ have horrible fragile curved screens, and note 8 has wierd screen ratio as well as just too overpriced.

So I had to jump off the samsung ship and buy Huawei Mate 10 which has great 16:9 FLAT screen, and is decently priced. Am very happy with the device.

I'm amazed to see what samsung is doing for the last 4 years, and see most these decisions as stupid and anti-customer. No wonder their sales are falling down.

so it will just go back to how it was before the S6 and S7. you get the S and the Note but now the Note will be called S+

                                  S series is mini Note

Anonymous, 20 Jul 2018Since Note 7 they were already same. Note 5 is the LAST RE... moreNote 5 was literally a bigger S6.

                                      What are you talking about?

Note 5 was the first fake Note.

Note 4 was the last real note: more ram, better , better resolution than S5. Plus of course more battery, pen as it was expected from the line.

Note 5 is what killed the Note line. A serious blow was dealt to the phone industry that year, it is about the time that I lost interest to new phones. They are obviously gaming us. Some Chinese are making steps forwards lately, but the peak that Note 3 and Note 4 represented is yet to be reached. Heck both phones (with a decent ROM) are still great phones. That says a lot!
