Sony Xperia XZ3 gets portrayed inside various cases

It unsurprisingly borrows design elements from both the XZ2 and the XZ2 Premium.

Z2 to Z3 - minor design changes, but turns out to be one of the best Xperias to be made
Same transition might be seen this year.l

Won't mind the bezel though, it slim enough and have speaker firing toward the user, instead of some weird hybrid solution

Review your post. Sony Xperia Z3 was released in the spring of 2014. We are talking here the Flagship that will be release during IFA show 2018. Not back tracking series.

Brandstifter, 21 Jul 2018To be honest, this is more of a gimmick. I had a 1440x2880 ... moreThe advantage of 4K display is that 4K videos, which are the future, are going to be displayed in their native resolution.
It's not always about being able to discern pixels, rather how much better the image quality is on a 4K display.
While most won't be able to see individual pixels on a FHD+ display, there will be many people who can see the difference in pure picture quality between FHD+ and UHD (on 4K, images will have better resolution than on FHD+).

If only they can change this design with XA2+ design..

Luckily both XZ2P and XZ3 have Sony style.

I had a 1440x2880 screen and had to admit there is no difference to FHD+ other than VR. Can't imagine 4K being any different. But, well, if someone wants to pay extra for that, it's up to them. Though it's still weird timing by Sony. As usual.

So, XZ3 is XZ2 with XZ2P camera. In other word XZ3 is simply XZ2 with improved camera and battery. Or another way to explain it, XZ3 is XZ2P with 18:9 ratio and downgraded display to FHD+ and smaller screen and smaller battery. Thats pretty much it. Sony really like doing this minor upgrade every 6 months. I dont really get it. Or Japanese simply just love working too fast?

S9+ has QHD+ display, but Samsung sets it to FHD+ at default. XZ2 Premium has UHD display, but it only works when the right content is to be displayed.
The thing is that mid rangers have inferior display quality to flagships other than in pure resolution numbers.
Brightness, contrast, color gamut range, average DeltaE, all those things make a flagship screen to be better than mid rangers and not just numbers.

Considering also other flagships, a lot of such is behind the times, its about time they realized they cannot have the same resolution as entry level smartphones.
