Because they are still one brand phones, android is ten? different brand all those brands have variety of phones in every price point. That's why it sells, not because it best, because it's almost every phone what you can buy, people mostly buy android because there's many cheap android phones, they don't buy it because android, mostly tech people buy it because it's android.
Just read that news, it clearly says how Apple is fastest growing brand. If android would been only samsung phones iPhone beats it, if htc iPhone beats it etc. So yes android sells because many brand together, just like people has saying.

[deleted post]Mostly tech people waited iPhone 5, i don't think normal people who are the biggest potential buyer for iPhone didn't know anything about rumours going every mobile sites.
Trust me iPhone 4s is going to be huge hit, like 3gs was also.

I always see comments on here about the amount of phones running android vs. the one apple device... It is the Android OS that makes the difference NOT the phone. Look at the other OS's, they all sell a variety of phones but they don't sell near what android does. Why? Simply because it's the best there is right now. I've owned a phone from each manufacturer and Android is the only one I didn't get bored with.
The iPhone price tag has nothing to do with why I won't purchase from Apple, it's the lack of customization and feeling that I actually own my phone. A lot of people buy iPhone's just simply because it is an iPhone, and for some reason they feel it gives them status. Admittedly it is a nice looking piece of hardware, but the software is crap in my opinion. We live in a world where technology advances literally daily, so I believe Apple needs to start making more than just subtle changes to keep it's followers happy

of course iPhone is not on top on that time frame. people are waiting for the new one to come out. now that it's coming, everything will change. again.

ios only has iphone while android have samsung, htc, lg, motorola, sony ericcson and on and on and on. and also iphone is way too expensive. so that is expected. but one has to note the profit margin for ios is huge compared to most android phone.
