Apple patents a way to wirelessly transfer power between devices

The idea is that wireless charging coils could be used to transfer power between say a MacBook and a dead iPhone.

Yes, all that is necessary because iPhones have poor to mediocre Screen-on-Time. Sure, they have great standby time, but no one just keeps their phone on their tables and not use it.

Bring the Airpower first. Apple fast in update but slow in hardware. I bet this idea will take them deacade to implement. Something as simple as wireless charging pad took them almost a year and still unavailable. Btw, the idea of tiny battery device charging another tiny battery doesnt sound so good from Apple.
