Sunday debate: Which camera is more important - front or back?

A spicy debate whether the rear or the selfie camera setup counts as the main one.

I have a camera anxiety when a lens is pointed at me. Even if it's me pointing myself. I honestly prefer that the rear one will be better. The whole point of a camera is picturing OTHER stuff, not you. So Rear is the real deal for me.

Kind of like a flip-phone of old times. It won't be bendable in every area... But maybe in future we'll get to the point where what you're imagining is possible.

          Selfie is just a single scene among all other scenes. A 5/8mp front camera with a wide angle lens & a led flash is enough. But rest of the scenes like nightshot, telephoto, hdr, sports are handled by rear camera. So rear camera is more importan.

                Since the selfie camera (5mp) is bad on the LG V30 I set a timer and take my selfies with the back camera (16mp). Though I need to make more then one to capture a good smile. A secondary display on the back would even solve the whole notch problem. As long as the front camera is, so worse compared with the back I stick to the rear camera for all my pictures.

You probably cant imagine what im saying.

                      I never used the front camera at all, why should i, if i want a pic of my self, others can take it for me :-)

It was a decent phone, but the concept never got popular... Honestly though, any moving parts are prone to damage over time, so i say good riddance.

                          Actually, if we get rid of the front camera, then we can have fully bezel-less smartphones right now. :D

                                    Thank goodness. If the front camera had more than 20% votes, I'd be disappointed in our generation. 10% selfie addicts are tolerable. Heh

                                      Unless , if we remember where Sony treated XA Ultra's both front and back camera as main camera (dual camera if you want though) simultaneously back in 2016 and where Sony refuses called it front and back shooter , as it both has to its own where it was launched back then , well , i say back camera is more important as i take most photo at back (tho front sometimes necessary for something) .

                                        I only use the front camera as a mirror sometimes, for example if I'm trying sunglasses in a shop which doesn't have one. And a few times for a video call. Not that important.
