Ah so thats why Samsung started the overly stupid 'Ingenius' ad mini series...

But cmon, we all saw this coming. The Galaxy S9 and s9+ are terrible upgrades from the Galaxy S8 and S8+. AR Emoji regardless of what ANYONE says, doesnt compare WHATSOEVER to Apples Animoji. Why? Because AR Emoji only seems like it was developed in like 3 days, whereas Apple obviously took their time and really worked their hardest with Animoji, sure, its a lot less feature-rich, but this certain concept strongly relates to this situation:

Quality (Animoji) >>>>>>>>> Quantity (AR Emoji).

Quality strongly defeats Quantity with this.

And heres other new features with the S9 that no one cares about:
• Viewing your homescreen in landscape mode
• A new Snapdragon 845 chip (even though the performance differences are very minor)
• Two new colors
• Minor camera differences that only photographers would care about.

Overall, the average consumer (HINT FOR ALL THE SAMSUNG FANBOYS/GIRLS: "CONSUMER") is going to choose the Galaxy s8 because on display, they see its basically the same thing but much cheaper.

Samsung should make high-end/mid-range devices having display without curved edges and without rounded corners. It will increase sales. In the past Samsung always provided such option.

samsung is over pricing its phone. on the other hand other chines brand giving them tough competition. Also samsung marketing strategies are not market friendly. For example. Have you even seen samsung flagship phone with dual sim and dedicated memory card slot? The flagship phones own by big peoples/professionals who need to have 2 Sims with high memory capacity. Samsung need to come up with their poor marketing strategies and give people what they need at reasonable price. If you loses this opportunity samsung them big market loss is waiting fo you.

Basically, let's hope that the Note9 will be much better than all the rumours so far, we'll see...

This is a lie, low sales is ONLY true if its Apple. If its Samsung, GSMArena must be lying!

                      Not surprised at all.

The S9 is just a gimmicky version of the S8, which is also another gimmicky phone from Samsung. Too many useless gimmicks like curved display, AR-moji and excessively high PPI, without focusing on what customers really wanted such as better and faster UI, faster updates and better battery life.

The last Oracle, 31 Jul 2018To be fair to Samsung, All Smartphone sales have slowed down. That's right. It was even here on gsmarena that worldwide phones sales are slowing down. Samsung had a record sales in previous years, so it's kind of normal that they are slowing down.
Also Chinese brands lately are growing strong and taking some part of the market.

Duh of course it does. When your low tier phones are priced to compete with other brands mid tiers you're pushing the limits of what people are willing to pay for a brand.

It's good news if Samsung have finally woken up from their sleep for the last 3 years - their budget and mid-range was poor and sales were supported by the top end flagships. When those flagship sales slowed/dropped suddenly they didn't have any performing areas and a 20% drop in revenue should mean better phones at more competitive prices if they want to maintain sale figures. People on these forums have called it for ages, Samsung offerings were poor and overpriced compared to other manufacturers but they couldn't see - hopefully they will now.

No surprise on poor mobile sales, nobody wants yet another overpriced Galaxy that's sitting in a vast ocean of other pointless Galaxy handsets, each slightly different to the other and with the same poor software support and limited Android update schedule.

How about cutting down on the huge numbers of silly .1 Galaxy upgrades and of giving us something genuinely innovative like an S9 mini with a 4.5" screen and flagship specs which doesn't need dinner plate size hands to use?
