a more appropriate fee would be 2% to charge developers to use the playstore. anything more doesn't make sense imo

IMO its a bad move someone can make a modified apk and people.might downloaded and get in security risk, playstore cuts but its safer and easier to reach majority through it and I'm pretty sure they'll make alot even with 30% cuts, add more purchaseable content or put some ads (not in actual gameplay) and which is better PUBG or Fortnite

Epic turned out crap long ago, same with this game. Not to mention their shitty epic launcher.

Wow. They are really taking advantage of the platform, aren't they? They couldn't try anything similar with iOS.

These are the sort of things that leads OS developers to make a closed system. I am sure Google will take notice of this (not particularly because of this game, but because other developers may also decide to do the same and reduce Google's profits significantly).

Ok. If I will reinstall the app - will they restore in-app purchases whatever I will reinstall the app? What about phone change? Will they refund monry if they will discontinue the app as in Google play? What about international support? What about undocumented side features loke spying on users? Sure they installed there. I don't really see any advantage of side download before Google Play. Epic games may do whatever they want but they lost trust at all.

Lol, so they dont want to go through the play store because they cant justify the cut google take and think they cant afford itbut they raked in how much all ready? Yeh ..... just stupid and will not download.

All the criminals and bad actors doing the birdman hand rub cause apks aren't safe and kids won't necessarily know the difference between the real and fake ones ; that have malware before it's too late.

I do not play games on my phone, I do not like Fortnite, but I will download it, play it (a little) and pay for it, just to support their act of defiance.
"Google is safe". Yeah, they safely take advantage of your personal data.

One more reason to not touch that dumpsterfire of a game :)

its will only invite hacks and other malware. aka problems that reduce the quality of the game and hurts the people who play its.
also when kids (i guess thats the biggest group that plays fortnite) are often easier to mislead when they trying to find fortnite. so also making it less safe.

bad move for some money if you ask me (atleast if you care about your customers)

They already made $15 million on iOS alone in the first three weeks of launch how much more when it's launch on Android platform. Although for me, 30% cut is too much, it could not replace all the advantages that epic games can get if they allow it on playstore.
Not to mention that Android is the most used platform worldwide even if we say that not all Android users will play this game.

I feel like that‘s a bad move. They don‘t have any advertisement in the play store then. People will only know about the Android version through googling (If they really want to) or a banner in the epic games launcher/the game itself. So people who never played this before won‘t be reached.
