    Indian market is price conscious. Other way to put this is that most Indians expect features similar to a flagship device , but price bracket expected is equally low. Xiaomi has been highly successful in maintaining this balance well. Their affordable tag and appropriate products meet the expectations.
    But this has created an impression that Xiaomi is good for affordable phones only and any premium product by them becomes bit hard to accept. This fact is known to Xiaomi. Hence, they launch only products which puts them at least risk.

    OPPO VIVO have entered india with over confidence about their premium bracket (Nex and Find phones). They are riding on success due to strategy of ' less price more features' phone. But this will not work with their premium phones. With tag equivalent to established brand, an Indian buyer will not prefer OPPO VIVO for paying premium price.

    Indian market is simple yet complex to understand.

        Don't worry... you'll hear Xiaomi tooting its own trumpet soon... by announcing that they sold 10 thousand units in under a minute or some such nonsense. Its the same old usual story with these flash sales... Just look at the luke warm response their Redmi Y2 received.

          If we compare it with the Zenfone Max Pro (at 13k), it seems way overpriced.
          And when comparing with the Honor Play at 20k, it seems even more overpriced!
