In the Galaxy note 9 and the S9/+ there is no way to record phone conversation. It is due to the CPU.
Take it into account before you spend your money.
I replaced my S9+ and I use now Sony XZ2, I prefer it.

Second, about the phone: I don’t give a damn about the pen or the headphone jack. I don’t use the pen and the headphone jack has no utility for me. If you buy the Sony XZ2 Premium they give you a nice pair of wireless noise cancelling headphones, so HJ is not a concern.
About the storage, bigger storage is nice, sure, but in Sony XZ2 Premium you have the option to put a SD Card with whatever storage you want. Problem solved!
About the camera you are so wrong, Sony has the best camerain the world on this phone, with natural, sharp colors and the best low light. Samsung camera captures fake, artificial colors, worst low light photos. In fact, everything in Samsung is fake, display rendering too

4000mAh is still quite small for a huge screen phone that's supposed to be a business phone which can mean several hours without a socket to plug in but also tons of onscreen time. Also bluetooth always on (s pen) and recognizing the pen...yeah I know, most people dont do business at all buying the note, but still. Its a good phone like always, but a big step down on design on the back imho.
