Nokia and SE were tops in years past, now both are struggling to keep up. Not sure whether Nokia and SE developed ever so slowly in the past couple of years or the Android and iOS just improved at a very fast pace? Either way, it shows that there is high demand for newer and better technology (and many other factors of course) that if a company fails to address to the change and the pace, there is a chance you will be left behind.

in my opinion, sony is way better than samsung/htc/apple..sony goods are the best things on earth..they have the technology but they dont apply it on their handsets..im a big sony fan from earphones,handphones and bravia tv..so sony please buy ericsson share and make a lot of good damn phones..

Its a growth if you ask me.
Too bad that se decides not to make feature phones. If they want to sell music oriented sets, they better be budget oriented too. Thas within a 90 euroes, Else music loving teens and college goers like me would be jumping to samsung next time, as se phones would be too price-y.
The first se phone I used is cedar. And its just awesome, got better video playback and os customisation than most 160euro feature phones.
I just love it.

Such a company should loose the profit next quartel it must be in losses...SE after sales service sucks after sales support is worst..My Xperia is in service for 20more days and still it is with them

They deserve it. They resorted to bad marketing strategy so they are paying for it. They neglected to support the Xperia X10 mini/pro and X8
Instead of giving those phones liberation from android 2.1, they bring out newer phones with 2.3
Then they upgrades the X10 and said they are focusing all their resources on that phone only. So that leaves a bad taste to customers. I was a loyal fan but after what they did, never again

If the quality of my Sony Ericsson Xperia pro is anything to go by then Sony Ericsson have a bright and rosy future ahead of them.
This thing is freaking awesome!!! Much better than my wildest expectations!! Compact high quality design that you have to have in your hands to appreciate - the online pictures don't do it justice!

Bring me a Tmobile US 3/4g Compatible Arc S with a real 3D 5/8mp camera and I'll buy it. Just a thought Sony. Its not Ericsson anymore as Sony is about to buy Ericsson out.

That´s happens when you based all your cellphones i just one model. I haven´t seen any difference between xperia X10 and Xperia Arc and all the others newest models that SE has been send to the market...

2011 xperia phones are really good but SE should market them right
good adverts will convince people to buy SE products
SE market share in north and south america is very low they should rethink about that
and if sony buy sonyericsson completely then samsung will have a new rival.

From loss you came to 0 profit. surely u will get profit. Please be fast enough to update the technology in each of your products. Consider the price and features of other manufacturer become manufacturing a product. Always be ahead... ALL THE BEST SE....

Big, BIG Mistake ! If they abandon android and switch to WP7. If I had Stocks I would be worried, very worried.
Who are we kidding,going to WP7 will hurt sales BIG time and instead of making better Hardware and updating there phones more often for there users , they want to now Jump ship to WP7 ?

I think they will probably get away with it. Look at the competition in android. LG seems to be struggling. Motorola wont be around for much longer. That leaves just Samsung and HTC as the only large players. All the other are way smaller. So Sony will probably be assured the number three android position by default. I dont see them ever catching Samsung. HTC maybe, but doubtful.

SE need to look at battery life as I had an experia x10 and the battery was atrocious ! Because of that I got rid of it and had a Sony phone since :-( which is sad because I used to love SE phones.

I would love to see a WP7 Sony Ericsson phone, but I guess that would mean putting Xbox Live on a Sony product. Also, bring back some feature phones (preferably clamshell). Not everyone wants a smartphone.
