Sony Ericsson Q3 results: 0 profit, smartphone-only portfolio in 2012

Sony will be always be the 1'st in top multimedia device maker...but who knows what Ericsson have to 'waste'...
I had and stil have (surely will have) only SE for my family and all had no problems...even xperia 10 mini that was considered by many a crap, it'a a great and very decent one...
But in romania very few SE models are 'shipped'...comparing to the 'new age' samsung and the most stupid ever phone maker nokia that have dozens of very low quality models (at Vodafone most)...
Only online to buy SE but Orange or Vodafone('the kings') doesn't have any various SE models or services as offers which i believe it's a big shame...
SE should change the way of 'deal'-ing with 'deal'-ers...it's for sure that they will always be the best at camera, sound and gsm\net signal...

And neither of your phones came with a warranty that you had to PAY for servicing them when they went dead within a few weeks. Yeah, right.
Seriously mate, I've owned three SE handsets to date, and not one of them had died within a few weeks of purchase. In fact, I'm still using the K850i as my secondary phone, which did die after a little over TWO years, but then I got it repaired at an SE service center at a minimal cost.
If you want to spew garbage, mate, do it in a way that it doesn't make you sound ridiculous.

SE used to be THE BEST phone for specs such as camera, memory supporting a variety of formats e.t.c I had 3 SE phones from 2004-2009 and all of the 3 phines had same problem with the charging connector. When the problem wasnt even on my 3d phone I decided not buy SE any more. I believe other people have been having same problems with theirs as this was a well known fact which SE didn't want to fix in 5 years time

The things that you mentioned like: their refusal to abandon Memory Stick and their decision to bring out their early 'droid handsets with an outdated version of the OS were very damaging to their market share but they do seem to be learning from their mistakes. Although I agree that the hardware is now in need of updating, the Xperia Arc was one of the first Gingerbread handsets on the market. I think that their original X10 has also received an Android update to Gingerbread (compare this to the will it / won't it update policy that eventually did see Gingerbread coming to the HTC Desire) and Sony-Ericsson have promised that all of their 2011 Xperia models will get updated to Ice Cream Sandwich when it becomes available.
Sony Ericsson are currently making some great Android handsets but they never seem to make it into the consumer consciousness.

sony is a much better company then any one else.. sony gives much better new fresh ideas, designs, and quality phone in mobile industry. b4 sonyer came nokia and other company just made a phone, that is much much costly then now . i love sony.. sonyer improve their self.

Sony Ericsson would have made a huge loss if they didn't have after sales and services. Bought 2 phones in last 10 months, both died within weeks. SE charged me a equivalent of a new phone to get the phones repaired. I wonder if SE made quality products.

Sony ericsson have good tecnology better quality of equipment and best camera quality and best quality of display in smart phones there was a long time problem with Sony ericsson that it have small display and front faceing camera with video calling and lower android version and higher price of it's phone compare that sansung,lg and nokia

Behind Nokia, once SE was second market leader here, in India. Companies like Samsung, LG were hard to see.
And Now!
Even not at the horizon of mobile market, SE competes!
Nokia still the market leader here and shares most trusted companies throne in India. But Samsung is company booming like atomic bombs. Say Android, say Dual SIM mobiles, say budget mobiles...Samsung is conquering every corner and giving really tough fight to Nokia.
I don't know how many days Nokia will remain at top with symbian smart phones, although N8 is a saver as the smartest camera phone in the world till date.

I remember my se k750... the best cam phone during its day.
Why not make a slim Clamshell stylish smart phone?
I haven't seen one lately. Its all been bar types, tablets and sliders. Might make you more profitable next year or so.

In the mobile phone market,SE is the beauty..& still they're with xperia arc(& I hope new things will come up).I know apple exists and v still love Steve & apple is beautiful too..

SE ignored budget phone users (they are the huge stake holder in the market). Nokia and Samsung are well understand the fact and introducing lot of budget phones. The Chairman speach confirms that the same position may be continue in 2012.

Seriously, from the looks for all these comments, how many of you really knows, owns or uses the latest SE phones? SE is making android phones lately & how many of you are still thinking of the historical K750 or W800? SE made some of the most beautiful android phones & that is why they managed to bounced back from -50m to 0 profit just within a quarter. You will still see SE around the smartphone arena, maybe known as Sony in future.

SE Has had good phones in the past ,bút pity ,they hd to compete with mighty nokia and even today with gud phönes n true n real designs ,the conditions remains samé but competitors have changed, but they r nt as worthy as nokia .they r just wörried abt copying n making specs look better even if irrelevant .
