It ain't bs, other than focusing on the 3.5mm headphone jack, there are other factors that greatly affected their sales. Their smartphones are great, but it's their marketing that's pulling themselves down. Instead of selling their smartphones through Amazon, they should have sold it on US carriers, not everyone loves buying things online. Of course, this also have to depend on their pricing for their smartphones, which is a little too overpriced in my opinion...

I really like Xperias but most of them are very underwhelming. The Z5 felt inferior compared to the Z3. I dont know but they keep releasing phones which are inferior to competitors especially spec-wise. A recent example is the XZ2 Premium. Yes, it has the SD 845, 6GB of RAM, a 4K HDR screen but it has a size and weight that will surely prove uncomfortable to use for most people, a small battery for it's size and weight and they never really developed a camera software that would bring out the best out of the camera's hardware capability. Other OEMs on the other hand like Huawei sealed a 4000 mah on their P20 Pro and Mate 10/Pro without compromising on the weight, the size and the design. Huawei developed the night mode and a proper manual mode to bring out the P20 Pro's camera potential. WHEN IS SONY GONNA DO SOMETHING LIKE THAT? Wish they would change soon since I love them so much and I wish to see more of them in future James Bond films.

We always loose hope just because w... moreWell HTC will be only visible in history books as Sony Erricsson or siemens.
But Sony and LG is going for same fate.
Less and less people buy their phones and without money they can afford innovations.
So for theses companies its over.
By the way jack is ancient technology and i really hope that all the companies will get rid of it for good. Bluetooth and other wireless gadgets fouds its place in present era.
As we charging phone durring night same we doing with earphones.

umeshk, 19 Aug 2018Were they making profit at that time?? The topic is very debatable, but in my country back in the days, Samsung wasn't that popular nor any brand other than SE and Nokia. Nokias were better all-rounders in term of camera because they offered higher-resolution video.
But sony had superior cameras in low light especially the phones with xenon flash which could literally stop time. I'd call that the golden age of Sony.

Kiyasuriin, 19 Aug 2018I remember quite a few somy phones that I used in the '00s~... moreI also remember couple of Erisson's, later Sony Ericsson phones that i used in that time, first T68i (maybe 2003) in that time - revolution, justz because of color screen, but i was like 10 years old. 2007 K800i that camera was really good... 2013 Sony Xperia Z, one of the best designed smartphone from that year, and thats it. Now use differente brand, but Sony (Ericsson) from the past years was a thing, i hope that they will come back with at least 20 new smartphones in 2019 (like others OEMs do)..
