Anonymous, 19 Aug 2018nokia was never in dark stage they are always number 1 in n... moreThey went downhill when they were under Microsoft, and even went as far as not making new smartphones until last year. That's considered as dark age when something isn't doing as good as it did in the past. But don't take it as a bad thing, it's part of everything, as nothing remains the best forever.

And it's not about presence that can make you number 1. It's about what you left to everyone that will always be remembered that can. Albert Einstein isn't making new discoveries lately, but he's arguably the best scientist mankind has ever seen.

AnonD-731363, 19 Aug 2018Well HTC will be only visible in history books as Sony Erri... moreYes there was once another manufacturer in the same situation, they were going down, they even re-hired their founding member to try to avoid their constantly dwindling sales. That company was called Apple if I remember well, the founding member was some Steve Jobs guy. But like you predicted for Sony and LG, they must be on history books by now, gone. Of course no company can reverse those negative situations. You sure know how the world spins.

Anonymous, 19 Aug 2018I really like Xperias but most of them are very underwhelmi... moreYoy yo yo man calm down, take a look of xz2 premium and p20 pro photo battle, in most cases xz2 is way better.. colours looks very real and nice to the eye, night shots also smart, huawei do aggressive work with shadows and only advantage I see is more detail on far objects just because of quad bayer tech and the night shot mode on huawei is awful. Sony just gets more dslr like samples and thats the main point in photos.. Cant wait to see 48mpx XZ3 its gonna destroy camera game DxO mark is nothing because sony doesnt pay them

They're simply in the dark age, not completely extinct. Just like in music, genres only undergo a dark period but not truly dying.
Again I used Nokia as a perfect example. They were in their dark state for 4 years then comes back from the bottom to be on top again.

The problem is not the missing jack. Other thrive without them.
Sony, even if they have very good cameras, and they sell them to countless other companies, in their phone, implementation is at least not optimal.
And most of the time, they are way overpriced, in my country they are more expensive
than Samsung equivalents most of the time.

usually in movies and real life phone calls are taken old fashion way next to ear or on loudspeaker.
dont remember any movie which character puts headphones in to make a call

Let's be truthful here , based on my perspective . Well , Sony and all other OEM participated on smartphone business , aren't perfect companies , regardless what they achieved in few years . I've owned 1 Sony Ericsson (Live With Walkman) , 1 Xiaomi (Redmi 2 Prime) , and 3 Sony Xperias post-Ericsson days (E Dual , C4 Dual and Z5 , Z5 is the current one and the only Bond phone i had) . In the past itself , i did ever wanted a Sony Ericsson phone before Android era was start to booming , especially Aino , Satio , Hazel , Naite , etc. Tho , i got my first and only SE phones during Xperia Android Period (there was a Xperia Windows Period) , it's still a grateful i had one.

Back to the previous one . They're not perfect , as i had to deal some problems with these Sony phones , especially C4 Dual with ghost-touching being the worst thing i had to suffer ,(aswell Xiaomi with lagging at sometimes ) , but i'm quite enjoying how i experienced with those 5 phones did from 2011 to present , with own unique features . Also , despite their weakness , every companies has its own advantages to its own , even Sony Xperia in its critical business condition , as it did kept the compact flagships on in the Android ecosystem , keeping the dedicated-camera shutter button , fluid near-vanilla Android UI with lots of customizable one , and others . Xiaomi , which obviously i had owned too in the past , has a rich features and very-customizable UI that i loved with some application that i need from the-get-go is already pre-installed . I still quite dislike how Sony ditched some features with other OEM , especially wired headphone jack at 3.5mm diameter . But , if that had to happen and the future itself said that , i had no choice but to move on , even it's hurts . So yeah , no matter what the company is today , past or tomorrow , accept it what they have now . You can argue with me whatever you want , but that's just my own perspective .

They forgot about Jumanji it was full Z5 series.

Wow my no 1 movie! James Bond!! Next phone on the movie it Will be Xperia play 2 :D

Droidtard, 19 Aug 2018Move on. Headphonejack is not coming back. Everyone is mov... moreThis is why no one buys Sony devices.
Repeating the same mistakes over and over is a sign that you're Sony. That is, ignoring what the consumers say.
This write-up is actually a good reference. When Aston Martin was struggling they started buying ad space for modern cars in the Bond movies and it helped them revive the brand. When Jaguar was failing they did the same and got the same result. Most companies has benefited from product placements in the longest running product placement franchise in movie history. Sony spams Sony devices in Bond movie after Bond movie and it doesn't do anything to their failing sales numbers. Maybe they should try making a device people would actually pay for?

                                I'd buy W950, M600, P1, W980, w810 now

Droidtard, 19 Aug 2018Move on. Headphonejack is not coming back. Everyone is mov... moreYeah, thats why all flagship sales are going down, and midrangers which keep the jack sales are on rise.

Me too included...guess Ill go midrange next time around too, especially if XA series are getting hires sound features...cameras are quite good on em also.

Those flags although better in other feats, keep downgrading on the sound feats and batterylife, and are all overpriced anyhow...

I'd love to see a new version of the M600 running Android with the latest SnapDragon chipset.
You can keep the stylus though. I'm not a fan of it. (one more thing that can brake or get lost).

Everyone is mov... moreTo tell you the truth, having a wired headphone still beats wireless in terms of PRACTICALITY & CONVENIENCE. You don't have to worry about battery life on a wired headphone because there is simply NO battery! All you need to do is plug and play, simple as that! And wired headphones SOUNDS BETTER than wireless due to the use of a DAC that the wireless ones generally lack. Another reason is COST. Heck, a cheap wired headphone still beats wireless ones in terms of SOUND QUALITY. For a "good" wireless headphone, one is compelled to buy the EXPEN$IVE variant to get the almost same quality as the wired headphone.

In the Spectre "Car Chase Scene" Bond didnt use Xperia Z5, but Xperia Z3. You can see, that phone in the car holder has a speaker in the centre of the top bezell, not in top of the bezell like Xperia Z5.
