"This is a huge step for Nikon - it announced its first new mount since 1958"

Nikon made mirrorless cameras with Nikon 1 mount from 2011 till 2018.

About time, but sadly a bit underwhelming effort.

Xhxhyy, 23 Aug 2018Professional photography seems stuck at processing power. ... moreYou must be joking. There's a huge gap even between low-end amateur photography, not to mention the gap between high-end professional photography. A $400 low-end APS-C DSLR/mirrorless is still far ahead of any $1000 phone camera.

Looks OK but those Z series don't have anything remarkable against Sony mirrorless cameras. Kind of inmature for now... Maybe the 2nd gen will be better.

Professional photography seems stuck at processing power.
That's why mobile photography plays catch-up game. Though it's still there a huge gap between high-end professional photography and high-end mobile photography.
