Abdu Al Salami Kebab, 24 Aug 2018Better how? iOS barely has any of my apps! The appstore and... moreBetter for some people (Not like you). That's why it's just 47% because not all people have the same preference. You get it?

The interpretation of the survey sounds a bit sinister.

A lot of users who made the switch because of the cost at first, later found Android better in user experience, includes my friends.

Most iOS user have bitter memories of old sluggish Android era even though that is no longer the case, and even today some people still think Android gets only one year of update.
It takes time to de-brainwash and get the trust back.

Anonymous, 24 Aug 2018correct !! and if you look almost every android manufacture... moreFriendly reminder . Face unlock is available for Android since 2011 . Remember when iOS has no command center? Yes you need to go in apps just to switch on wifi .

laggdroids, 24 Aug 2018I switched from iPhone 7 Plus to S9 Plus. In terms of O... moreThey better not, look what happened when they last introduced quite a big upgrade in iOS 7. It ruin my ipod touch for a good 6 months and i could barely use it for anything other than music. Then iOS 8 fixed the bugs but some stuff are no longer the same and only way i want a smooth working device is to buy the latest and this is what Apple is doing nowadays.

And android can run movies from other sources which is also a major reason I switched

I switched from Android (Optimus G) to iOS (iPhone4) because I wanted to try it but then I switch to android again (Galaxy S4) cause I wanted a bigger screen and SD Card (though my current G2 has none of these)

nik.007, 24 Aug 2018Well they didn't give the option for "better show off". Th... moreSome do want to flaunt iPhone as status symbol but that price gap has closed down to a narrow margin with the likes of S9 S9 plus, Note 8, Note 9 etc..... Even samsung is going bonkers with pricing..... The main diff is you get 75% of that performance for 30% of that price in android with the stiff competition in mid-range to lower mid- range price segment(Xiaomi has thrown gauntlet with its pocofone F1 at an insane price of 21K which is another example how stiff android competition is), while same can't be said about iPhones. Buying a 2014 iPhone for 25K is not a good idea.....

I switched from Android to iOS almost 4 years ago, so at first coming from the world of custom ROMS (I was quite a heavy user) it was quite a shock. A few years later, if you ask me now if I'd go back to Android, I'd say probably not. I still use an Android phone for work, but I'm not missing any of its features on my personal phone. The larger selection of apps, better stability, FAR better support and longevity, and the fact that Apple is about the only one still making regular-sized high end phones (I won't ever buy a phone I can't fit in my pocket and easily use with one hand, so that automatically disqualifies like 95% of Android phones), are the reasons I switched to iOS and despite the slightly higher prices I don't see myself switching back anytime soon (because yeah, iPhones are too expensive, but at least where I live they're not that much more than similarly specced Android phones, all of which have half the support lifetime at best).

Better how? iOS barely has any of my apps! The appstore and their stock launcher that cannot be changed sucks. IMO

I don't get the "better user experience" thing. I have and had Android phones only but I got a 6th gen iPad a couple months ago. Good for browsing the internet and streaming Netflix/Prime Video, but iTunes is a nightmare.

I switched from iPhone 7 Plus to S9 Plus.

In terms of OS, iOS 10.3.3 was far better than iOS 11.(last version used was iOS 11.3 which was buggy). Yes, it could do gaming smoothly. But the UI was kinda boring. Not major changes up from iOS 7. Apple needs to redesign their OS in terms of look n feel. Performance wise(iOS 10.3.3) was a beast. Battery was good enough to run for a day. But the possibilities end when you have a limited 32 Gigs storage. I had my content uploaded to iCloud, and replacing the new content will a minimal size of the photos. Man, it was a pain in the neck when I had to search photos that were 3/4 months. It would download from iCloud n then display in the HD resolution.

Coming to Android. I had used Marshmallow before switching to iPhone. Android gives you the max to customize your device. Eg for S9 Plus. I have way too much options to customize my lock screen, AOD, adjust the homescreen layout, customize the edge panels and whatnot. Also you can open multi windows in Android(which I use it daily) - that feature is available only on iPads.

So yes, for features, Android wins.

It is user experience for iOS to Android as well, and slightly equally price, so I don't get why price is highlighted in the first column?

Well they didn't give the option for "better show off".
That's literally the only reason why people buy an iPhone, at least in India. The rich gotta get an iPhone because they want to show, you know, that they are rich. The not so rich would buy the cheapest of the iPhones' available, on EMIs, just to show others that they are actually rich.
In India, the iPhone 6 is selling like hot cakes even today, for INR 25k, because, you know, you are getting an iPhone for 25k, that's a total steal!

iOS follows President Trumps policy for security of the device - iTunes, more restrictions, walls, no apps outside of the appstore etc.

Android is more demcratic - gives more freedom while maintaining security - otg, apps from other sources, more customization etc.

I realized why, once I saw this analysis:
                                https://www.blancco.com/press-releases/android-devices-struggle-keep-pace-performance-apples-iphones/
Mind the stability failure percentages of every OEM in there...

And it certainly is not Androids fault.
Android is just fine, and much more developed OS.
And there are excellent android OEMs out there, that iphone users unfortunately keep avoiding, and so they have no clue there are better options out there.

I've used both platforms and there is no way in hell that ios is an overall better experience from android. What people probably meant is that their inferior huawei's, sony's, and midrange samsung's don't compare to the ripoff iphone's. If they were smart (AND had the money to dish out), they'd have gotten an android flagship. But we all can't be smart.

                                    Went both
And i can somewhat agree with the survey, apple as expensive it is, have better customer service(if you still in warranty that is), it also have great user experience for average people that use their phone as internet device
While android sport more features, versatility and the greatest of all, it offer choice... As fragmented android is, it also bring choice to consumer, doesn't like samsung, well there's pixel and so on
Not to mention the low repair cost of android

Vic4BBM, 24 Aug 2018If one looks at parameters, switch from Android to iOS is l... morecorrect !! and if you look almost every android manufacturer actually trying to copy iphone's features - by adapting notch, removing headphone jack, blur kind of UI, animoji, face unlock etc etc
which clearly shows iphones are far more stable, complete phone than any other android phone. So its very tough, risky for apple to take a decision for any changes or upgrade . But for android it's just copy paste and compete(compare) with iphone by putting few more gigs of ram, storage(although everything is cloud based ) - which shows android phones are cheap copy of iphone.
