I like Curved screens however there is a right way and a wrong way too make
a Curved screen

The right way too make a Curved screen is too have bezels at all sides but build the Curved screen inside of the bezels but have the Curved screen left up so it comes up like a dome
too make the screen look nice the Curve of the screen only needs too be small near meeting the bezels and flat in middle of screen making most the screen easier too use
sides of phone are not screen with this design and screen is only on the front of the phone but still a Curved screen

The wrong way too make a Curve screen have the screen Curve around the phone sides where your fingers are holding the phone and trying too remove all bezels trying too be only screen on the phone and less body

The war on bezels is the problem not the Curved screen

I've had an S21 Ultra for 6 months now....excellent phone in every way...EXCEPT CURVED SCREEN.
The S21 was to replace my Huawei Mate20x but the 20x had a bigger flat screen which gave WAY more USABLE area. (In addition, the speakers are WAY better volume/stereo/range).
I wish HONOR had brought out a faster 20X (and without the useless storage card rubbish!)

Star, 31 Aug 2021Curve screen Are Expensive To Replace? Well if I can afford... moreCurved screen all the way!
I don't understand all these complaints about accidental touch or colours "bleeding " out and others saying they are always dropping them also complaints about not being able to get cases that are not ugly or bulky....I have never had any of the troubles that seem to plague these unfortunate (and very clumsy) folks!
I have had curved phones from the first Samsung s6 Edge and yes at the time the only cases on offer were bulky and took away the aesthetics of the device...but now in 2021 you have a slew of great cases
I was really disappointed that Samsung will no longer be using curve screens on their flagship devices it seems my beautiful s20 will be the last...I might have to (Gasp)! Jump off the Samsung ship and that would be a shame all my touchscreen phones from the very first one has been Samsung...I really hope they change their minds or at least do what they did with the s6 edge and s7 and offer a flat screen version as well...that would please folks on both side of the debate

Curve screen Are Expensive To Replace? Well if I can afford a 1000$ phone tbh It's completely ok for me to replace it for 300$ , apple charge same for their stupid (Samsung made) flat screen as well. And stop complain ab accidental touches lol do you really have a curve screen phone? To me it never happened. And they are found only on the high end version so if u want same flat screen as a 100$ phone go for the non pro/ultra version. Curve ofc mean premium, u r not getting any curved qhd+ display phone for 500$ so I will always buy curve phone forever❤️

Giving curved screens to unnapreciative people is like giving daisies to pigs.

I have a oppo reno 10x pro and oneplus 7 pro. Reno 10x which has a flat screen feels and look great way much better than the curved screen I've seen so far.

Curves look great on OnePlus 8. No accidental touches either as the frame is easy to hold and I don't put things in the curved area of the screen anyway. Tried tempered glass on it and it's ok for normal usage. Gaming you can experience sensitivity drops but nothing major. The tempered glass fits perfectly with the OnePlus case too. I removed the tempered glass in the end because the screen looks far better without it..just like any amoled with a flat screen does.. the colours pop so much because of how close the display is to the glass ..moreso with amoled screens than LCD so with another layer of glass on top the colours look more washed out and you lose the pop effect. Also more manufacturers are going back to flat screens on their cheaper flagships which should please those that complain about curved screens ..crybabies

I can use both but I prefer flat. I choose curved if the phone's over all better than the available flat options.

I wish GSMarena added a "flat screen" checkbox to the Phone Finder search. These times call for that... The checkbox for 3.5mm jack is very handy!

mark s, 25 Sep 2020Curved screens are terrible for screen protectors. I love t... moreSee, curved screens are not too bad instead samsung is getting complents of samsung curved screen flagship users that they had a lots of issues and problems using the phones with edges. That's why the latest smartphone s21 line-up of samsung provieds flat screens to s21 and s21 plus. But some people's still love curved displays so they gave a slightly curved display for the galaxy s21 ultra. As well as the note 20 series also has both curved and flat flagship. So it's not possible for samsung to make every phone screen flat because some users love curved screens, so they will be providing both flat and curved screen phone line ups in the upcoming series.

I have a mate 20 pro and the curved screen is the only downside for me. I'm not looking to replace it yet but when I do I'll defo be looking for a flat screen phone next if possible.

stupid smartphones makers Samsung,Huawei,OnePlus and others don't make any research to know how much people hate the curved screen? The do not read such debates what an idiotism I am struggling to get a Android flagman that I like with a NON CURVED SCREEN! I have Huawei mate 20 and I am searching for a replacement of course with flat screen on android, the only smartphone that I found is LG V series but they are far from ideal. Any suggestions?

.Debate? There is no debate, these curved screens were sold to us as a new gimmick but were intentionally created to create more profits for the companys. There is NO advantage to having a phone you can no longer hold in your hand without contacting the screen because the side in now the screen. I went from a note 5 to note 9 and hate the newer phone so much I will be selling it to purchase a flat screen phone. I would keep the note 5 forever if the crooks Samsung didn't stop making batteries and updates for the software. They made your phone so you can't open and change the battery yourself so now a simple 20 second battery replacement is complicated and costs over $100 and you need an AUTHORIZED dealer to change it because the manufacturer wont sell the batteries to anybody who doesn't share the profits with them and after 2yrs they stop manufacturing the batterys altogether all this to force you to buy another 500-2000 phone and make them more profits the next chapter will be 5g wich nobody need who needs to upload to their phone a video in 5sec instead of 1min?? PLEASE Answer Anyone who does?? They will all switch to 5g and eventually shut down 4g to sell everyone WHO DOESN'T NEED OR WANT in the world a new phone. Yes 5g will be 20times faster but why do I need this? My note 5 is plenty fast compared to my note 9 and what on earth do I need so desperately fast that requires 5g this if for the guy who needs to brag and show off to his friends..

Curved screens are terrible for screen protectors. I love the s20+, but will never, ever buy a curved screen again. Also, the lack of pop up notifications was a step backwards for Samsung. Weird ideas.
