None, right? Even TIDAL streams are reduced quality when compared to actual physical media. And the niches services only host Beethoven and some obscure bands!

TOO FEW PEOPLE GIVE A S--- about high quality codecs. That's a fact. Stop being so goddamn triggered.

So this is not evolution of new technology, it's an evolution of new business strategy to move more people towards wireless technology and earn additional moolah. Wireless headsets are there many years before the phone's jack got ditched and their quality is nothing to write home about, until unless you spend more than 200 USD for a wireless set.

My iPhone 8 Plus is still heavier, its battery capacity hasn't been increased, still same 5.5" screen, still got huge bezels. Did Apple fit a 5000mAH battery in it? Or a 6'' and above screen? In what way removing the jack benefited people? Apple did it to force people to buy their AirPods. I can only see this benefit(to Apple, not to the general consumer). Instead of echoing Apple's business strategy, you should just show people what extra the manufacturer crammed into the phone by removing the jack.

And I believe other notable manufacturers that have started dropping the 3.5 mm port for their phones are Sony, Nokia, Google, HTC, Xiaomi and Oppo.

[deleted post]Ah yes, because iPhone users always refer to their phone's USB-C port. You're clearly more brilliant than both Einstein and Sherlock Holmes put together.

There's USB-C and bluetooth on virtually all devices. If you complain about not having a 3.5 mm port included, buy a phone with one. For the rest of us, we prefer that internal volume to be put to better use.

The new, better standard doesn't free us from the annoyance of charging Bluetooth headphones.
I'm using wireless headphones daily but still every once in a while I get to use headphone jack.

Just put 3.5mm jack! It doesn't hurt

So the 2 main players who've dropped the 3.5mm jack (Apple and Huawei) won't even benefit from this anytime soon?

I'm so sick of current mobile phone trends. Like, why not have both wired and wireless? People who prefer and cared enough for wireless would eventually go out and get one, while people who prefer wired could just plug in to the headphone jack. It's all about giving people choices. The fact that phones are getting more and more expensive, removing this simple yet versatile jack makes no sense. It's like saying since majority of devices supports wireless charging, let's remove the usb/lighting port altogether. But they didn't, so why remove the headphone jack when there aren't any real benefits over wired? If anything it is much pricier and needs to be charged after just a couple of hours and prolly won't sound as good as wired headphones at the same price. At least Apple has proprietary port and removing headphone jack prolly benefit them. While other OEM with USB, USB C? Don't think so..

It's just a money making racket. I sometimes like the convenience of wireless, but I prefer wired any day.

                                Ugh. Just why.

I just recently bought over the ear headphones that are both wire and wireless because going around my house with no cables listening to my music is cool, but I use them for hours everyday, If I would to use them like wireless headphones only, battery would be roasted in about a year or 18 months (and they rock a whopping +24 hours life battery), and when that happens, I want to be able to use them still because headphones tiny batteries can only do much and I invest quite the money on them.

We are almost being forced to change smartphones every year, and now HEADPHONES TOO? And neither of them are cheap by any sence!

                                Just stop this madness!

Most people use earbuds, and those tiny things can be lost easily and only have like a 4 hours battery life, like, the heck? we are not ready yet for this changes, just let us have both options Qualcomm, It does not harm anyone to have a 3.5mm jack in a phone!!

Let us decide our preference, we cant hace both options in one? we are paying for that (especially flagship users)!

I mean these are bitrates a lossless codec would give you. If you can give these, I can expect some kind of clarity from record. If you give me a 24/48 at 576 kbps and trying to sell me like HQ Audio, you are lying.

Go to hell Qualcomm and fuck bluetooth headphone, they are terrible, most of times.
