The only manufacturer making POLED right now is LG, unless I'm mistaken. Who makes the XZ3 screen?
I have to wonder, did the video look best at 100% brightness - because a 100% brightness POLED would still be dim enough to look natural? The other OLED and AMOLED screens would be too bright to look at, so they would lose on over-saturation alone.
If all the contenders had a reasonable brightness level, I'd have to assume the Samsung would win. Not a Samsung fanboy, I'm just being logical (I would be happy if Sony actually succeeded here, the more quality screens on the market the better).
POLED is something Samsung used years ago, and I've used the POLED Galaxy Nexus, Pixel XL 2, and LG V30, it's not as good as current Sammies AMOLED. I'm very confused, unless there's a new manufacturer (Sony themselves?) of POLED doing it better. How did they make POLED look good? And what about POLED blueshift and black crush? Confusedl!

They are expensive to begin with, and you only got Samsung and LG to provide enough quantity, even then they still have limits. So they don't clutter their production lines with poorer panels. But I digress. The point was that OLEDs are good too, just easier to put colors on overdrive than IPS LCDs

It's just that many people are underestimating IPS LCDs way too much, when it's nothing really bad as they claim it to be.
My friend's A6+ 2018 display is very color accurate, but I don't really like its appeal of being too bright at times, so I prefer the IPS LCD of my Redmi 5 Plus, which is still great.

If you're someone who doesn't scoff at the Galaxy Note 9's $1000 price tag, I'm not sure how you can look at the Xperia XZ3 and not think it's at least worth considering at $900.

200 random Person gives relative good estimation of what people like or dislike. It is like elektion gallups. They don`t say what is the end result in the election, but give a quite good estimation of the end result.
And if oled in Sony is good, that is a good thing. There will be more competition in oled screens and that can mean either better oled screens and/or better prices.
What I agree is that people Are not good estimations what is good and what is not. Most people like saturated punchy, not accurate colors... but that Group that like those not accurate colors is bigger than those that like natural accurate colors... so I always read the results of good review of the product. But that does not make this announcement invalid. Many people like these new oled screens better than from competative manufacturers.
