1- This comparison It was made with the default color profiles, Sony's Triluminos and Samsung's Adaptive Display.
2- Both devices have sRGB mode, but that mode is JUST FOR PHOTOS, you shouldn't use sRGB for photos.
3 -This comparison was made with videos, No graphics or photos.
4- The objective of comparing low resolution videos is to know which device has the best upscaling algorithm, It is not surprising that they are and stand out in detail and clarity, they are the market leaders in this aspect for a long time, it can not be denied.
5- the point of use a non professional mode is to know what screen can provide a better visual experience.
6 - There's is not statement from Sony that says "is the most accurate display in the market"
7- The XZ3 has more features related with video than other devices. There's is not problem with that.
8- There is not a calibration standard for HDR.
9- There is not display in the market that cab show the entire BT.2020 gamut, Samsung and Sony use gamut compression, however the Sony one is better.
10 - After the red tint on the S8 display , i dont trust DisplayMate anymore, its quite obvious that they were payed.

Intill these phones get properly tested.. and not by gsma.. or some possible bias review.. i cant see why your all arguing
Personally after seeing the a few youtube video next to samsung phone.. the colours do look more accurate to my eyes.. issue is most people now a days seem to think that over constrasted colours look better.. but arent real to life.. as if they are blind to the real world and are looking down at their phone 90% of the day.. so make your own judgements.. i mean i even own a samsung and personal perfer the colours of this xz3 but intill i physically hold it in my hands in a store i myself wont know.. so people fighting over a phone they just seen some crappy review on.. i feel like your all biased...

I'll ask again more directly, because I'm really curious and suspect many posters here would know. The article says all phones were tested at default settings. My Samsung S9 had a default screen resolution set to 2220x1080, which I promptly increased to full resolution of 2960x1440. What is the default resolution of the Sony phone? If its default is its max of 2880x1440, I would expect it to look better at default than the Samsung. I would have preferred seeing results/impressions comparing all of the tested devices with equivalent settings or maximum resolution for all to get a better idea of perceived image quality. That, and a more relevant sample video should have been used to take advantage of the higher resolution displays.

But I'd be saying that good OLED panels now have extremely good color reproduction in Basic mode ("visually indistinguishable from perfect") but they're always in the punchy colors mode so they catch your attention.
