Every fanboy's out there defen... moreNot only they all defended Sony when they used the flat design, this Predictive memory guy said that 'Samsung's curved design is obsolete' WELL GUESS WHAT, the exact same design has now been copied by Sony on their XZ3. So, now XZ3's design is also obsolete?
They also defended Sony when Sony was releasing flagships with LCD's, were all used to see comments like how less vibrant colours on LCD's are accurate and now suddenly Sony comes out with OLED phone and now, saturated VIBRANT colors are the thing.
Do you remember comments like 'crapoled'? 'OLED burn in'? 'OLED has fake colours'? 'OLED suck, LCD is the king'?
I wonder what happened to all that?
The other day I saw a comment 'SONY BRAVIA OLED won't burn, unlike Samsuck pentile crapoled. The fact is every OLED display will burn in in due course of time and you are right when you say that 'Every modern OLED is by definition an AMOLED panel.' These guys don't even know that OLED and AMOLED's are the same, the only difference is the active matrix which adds an extra capacitor to the OLED panel.
I guess Samsung's displays and Galaxy phones have set the bar really high and are the industry's benchmark, Sony fans have to make a huge cry and bash Samsung to satisfy themselves. I mean the almost every comment by Sony fan is targeted at Samsung, the worst part is these guys are so low that they will start attacking you personally and come down to verbal abuses.

Screen must first be tested and compute for DeltaE values before having the conclusion. My Bravia 4K HDR TV can switch to very accurate level of colors when it detects HDR contents or when I basically set the display to HDR mode (Professional Mode in the case of Xperia phonez).

zodiacfml, 01 Sep 2018LOL. It doesn't look good for Sony's OLED.It's okay that you prefer the unrealistic color tones of the Diamond PenTile OLEDs from Samsung and LG, however, kindly don't speak for the majority, since I'm part of that minority who prefers the great accuracy of the XZ3.

Of course, if I say that OLEDs are inferior to IPS LCDs due to their less natural colors, you'd be defending them that it's part of their nature. Same goes for the old Sony's IPS LCD devices.
As fanboys, the feelings will be affected especially if something you love is being bashed so badly for doing absolutely nothing wrong.
In fact, there can be a criticism that can be delivered in a civilized manner and not involving harsh words or fights, but people choose the less matured way because it's always more fun, and I find it very sad for the most part, that's why I can't blame any die hard fanboys when they burst up.

Good thing that those phones are popular enough to be considered into the comparison. Next time, kindly compare the XZ3 to a true OLED competitor that's worthy of a comparison.

Two factors, first that the video is not as high quality as possible, it doesn't even utilize the full resolution of the screens not to mention HDR.
Second, it's just a single video, video colors are subject to their shooting equipment and grading and this one may have been chosen to make certain screens more flattering due to their individual configurations.
