Independent Strategy Analytics survey shows the Sony Xperia XZ3 has the best display

At this point I wouldn't call any display the best of all. Lately all these sites which claim being professional have been posting rubbish data. And I can't tell taking any advertising info with a pinch of salt.
The XZ3 display is great, period. Comparing it to anything shouldn't be a goal. Each one of the phones they compared it with have certain pros and cons about the display, and the Sony's new display should be tried and tested by those users over the next few years to see how good it stays.
Take me for example, after experiencing OLEDs for a few years now, I still refuse buying a phone with one! I still prefer good old LCDs!

I guess you end up being partial to the brand you bought into... I'm somewhat partial to Samsung.. Even though the ui was heavily criticised at around the s3 mark, I've enjoyed my s7 edge until it sadly shattered.. Strangely enough my first new gen phone was an xperia z1, something i chose for its screen.. Which btw is very fragile.. And stops functioning immediately if cracked.. And a zenfone 6 spoils you with its ridiculous 6 inch screen... My note 8 is more easily managed than the zenfone... Ah so much rant....
Anyways at manual brightness a display won't shine at its brightest, not to mention sunlight legibility issues etc..

I can only assume that the different categories varied in how much they contributed to the final scores, that or someone seriously needs to go back to school and learn maths. Average scores actually has iPhone x at 14.4% LG V30 at 14.6%.
It's actually a better way to see people opinion of the new screen as unlike a lot of us here 90%+ of phone buyers won't be buying a phone because it has technically the best screen or specs ect.

With a maximum brightness of 437 nits, it isn’t necessarily the brightest out there, which makes it a little bit challenging to view under direct sunlight. Meanwhile, the 7769K color temperature of the display runs a bit cold.

Nice, for me it doesn't matter if the survey is scientific or not, or is it based on an acceptable standard in mobile display.
The research is customer based which is the target of the product not those technically capable persons because their numbers are minimal. It's an electronic consumer product therefore the target should be the wants and desires of consumers and the consumers had spoken by their choice.
If the consumers said that Sony displays is better then Sony deserves the praise. Good job and good luck Sony keep it up!

Every fanboy's out there defending Sony like if they were defending their families from a certain doom. The most pathetic thing is how some goes on to say AMOLED is not OLED and is worst. Every modern OLED is by definition an AMOLED panel. The other kind, PMOLED, does not allow to turn off black pixels. That and the fact they make for thinner panels. That's a fact, but some still manage to invent their arguments for this stupid fight where everyone's lives are not at stake.
And it's a proven fact that Samsung AMOLED panels are the best in the industry... given you allocate the appropriate funds.
Plus they are for the most part cowards. They all defended Sony when they used flat LCDs instead of curved OLEDs. What are they saying now?
