Bob007, 02 Sep 2018I don't crave stock Android ,it boring to use what do you do with brand UIs? stare at the menus all day? Any function that a 3rd party UI has can be modded on any google device or android One device. Any feature. But the vice versa is not possible. 3 years on, stock android will survive, but it's hard for 3rd party to emulate that.

sadh, 02 Sep 2018omg those devices running kitkat. yikes.My Samsung Mega 6.3 running on Kitkat, is use it as table playing game & watching video due to the big 6.3" screen, so far no issue.
Those running on Jelly Bean or older may have compatibility with most game & apps.

I've used iPhone for 10 years. I've used Android for 7 although it turns 10 this month since its release. Once you use Pie, you can NEVER GO BACK to older software. Android 9 is worth it. I've used Gingerbread, Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean, KitKat, Lollipop, Marshmallow, Nougat, Oreo, and Pie. Like Android I, K, M, N, and P. Without a doubt, Pie is the best.
I feel Android has reached its apex with very little improvement from here. I want Google to create an entirely NEW operating system. A closed one. Let the other OEMs use Android. Google creates Andromeda/Fuchsia and make it Google's real answer to iOS. Android was really to replace Windows as the most used OS in the world.
At some point, Android and iOS will reach the end of the line. Google needs to create its own OS. Android wasn't originally their's. They just bought them out.

Which phone received android pie update other than essential ??? Don't worry Redmi note 5 pro will get android pie update. Because Redmi note 5 China/ai/global launched with Oreo and those phone will get one major android update and we have unified single ROM for REDMI NOTE 5 PRO and Redmi Note 5 AI/Global and we will get android pie update. I'm fed up with saying this again and again

sadh, 02 Sep 2018omg those devices running kitkat. yikes.I use secondary phone which runs on jellybean ,and a tab which runs on KitKat ,they work fine without issues ,yeah they are not fast as my primary phone which runs on Oreo ,but still as long the device is in good shape ,I am gonna use them ,not gonna throw away and buy new replacements

Even though Redmi note 5 pro is 2018 phone still it wont get pie like other 2018 phones ,mi very cleverly sold the phones with marshmallow out of the box and then updated it Oreo ,so they can fulfill their one major Android os update qouta

This trio leads, everyone else follows the trend. For example notch, apple wasn't first, but it changed the entire industry.. same with samsung with it's amoleds and design choices and google with it's software. every one craves for that google stock experience.

Think about this for a moment. On iPhone X, you need to swipe up to get out of the app. But you can't just swipe up again to close it. On Pie, you can do that. You can use Nova Prime to prevent the drawer swipe up. Apple copied Palm webOS after 8 years and still couldn't get it right.
Matias Duarte is basically doing the same thing he started. I know all this because I used webOS for months back in 2011. The gesture area was below the display. You can swipe up twice to close the app. On iOS, there are extra steps. Sorry, Apple. Not intuitive enough and you certainly weren't the first.

Well average price of android phone is around $200, you can't expect budget phone can having latest os. Most of the companies didn't even making profit. Google should give reward,if companies provide os and most importantly security updates .
Beside android pie didn't bring anything useful only some AI gimmicks and gesture gimmick . Update sometimes comes with bugs and can decrease phone's battery and performance .
