I personally would like the Pocophone, but it doesn't change the prices of flagships. OnePlus wasn't able to do it, and Xiaomi won't be able to either. It's only when a bunch of companies switch to such a concept that we can expect the materials, software, and R&D to become cheaper and allow the prices to go down as well.

Us... moreUS price is without state tax. Also keep in mind there are shipping fee/ restocking/ customs charges etc. Thats why the US price is low.
Also as long as dumb fans keep buying these products at any cost, apple will always be happy to keep the EU prices up.
Once the sales are low, then apple will consider reducing the prices in the EU

In germany they are selling the xs max for 1149 euros which = 1336.07 dollars..
Price difference of.. 337.07 dollars.. for the bog standard version..

Android phones are limited to record vide... moreYou are wrong, whilst you can format memory cards / USB, Fat32 that limits your file size to 4Gb.
Storage ABOVE 32Gb those can be formatted exFat, (ex = extended) that removes the individual 4Gb file size so 4K video can be recorded in those memory card
E.G you can copy anything above 4Gb on a card formatted ExFat to storage formatted Fat32 due to to 4Gb file size limit
Whilst there will be improved specifications IoS 12 and a faster SoC this 2018 tweak will be more than the 2019 improvement
As 5G will be rolled out and the 2019 iPhone wil be 5G Apple will just re present this years phone as a 5G version plus minor tweak

Xiaomi entry should have an effect on prices overall as it is significantly lower than the one less 6 / Pixel / S9 all which also have the Snapdragon 845
If those above lower the price to maintain sales i.e premium build this could in turn affect Apple who never, adjust the price midterm
Some people will never change to an Android phone, Apple strategy is opposite in that competition lowers prices
The Pocophone is well under half the price of an IPhone and in blind test with other snapdragon 845 except S9 shape you wouldn't know it was a pocophone

my wife wanted the latest iphone x when it was going to be announced but when she saw it she changed her mind because she wanted touch id so she bought iphone 8 this year she has no choice and she(an apple fan girl) is getting a bit annoyed at apple because they took another thing she like from the iphones
i joke around with her that soon she wil be walking around with a brick with the apple logo if apple keeps removing things from their iphones
