One of my friends has a galaxy S8 and another has the iPhone X. Both support wireless charging. Never used them. ingress protection? Don't drop your phone in liquid. I always put a case on an expensive phone as do most sensible people and a tempered glass screen protector. I can afford to go on a contract right now with a note 9 or wait maybe a month and buy it. It's not a money issue. I can afford it. I am looking for value for money. This phone offers this. The others don't. I don't really consider the issues you outlined compromises. They're additional benefits that might be nice to have buy hardly essential to the experience of using a high end smartphone.

Just to let people know :
The Poco F1 has the fastest print scanner out there with the Oneplus6 : it is really FAST, S9+ cannot compare. I don't know if it compromise security.
The Poco F1 has the fastest, headprint scanner out there with the Oneplus6, it is really fast in daylight, slower in the dark but still faster than other phones. It really puts iphone X scanner to shame. I don't know if it compromise security.

I really like this phone in red. Critics say they don't like the plastic feel. I actually prefer it! Glass just doesn't seem natural for me to hold. Owned two glass-back phones and just never liked the feeling.
Too bad I prefer stock Android over everything else. Pixel will be my preferred choice for life if I wanted to stick with Android. No compromise with camera quality either.

Yes this phone has some compromises vs higher end flagships including the op 6 but saying this is a mid range phone with a flagship chipset is downright wrong.

A lots of midrangers offer a better package for most of users . . .
for less.
But that SDM845 blended a lots of people,
they thinking to get a flagship,

Supports only few bands, less than a better entry level PHONE!

Are these compromises worth pay... moreits worth even worth more than three times for me bud. i can afford. i have no fuzz about the price, its out the question in my situation of buying a phone. as i said, so long as it doesnt have or just lil compromises. its good. if i dish out that much money, may as well free myself from any compromises(no NFC, no wireless charging, no IP cert, etc). again, i have no care for the price may it be as low as poco's or as high or higher than iphone x's. what i care really is the presence of any compromises.

this FM Radio app of Xiaomi is horrible. don't have preset buttons in main screen. the volume is less of others music apps.

Shiny metal body? wireless charging? Really that's worth a 1000 usd to you. You don't know what you're talking about. The iphone x has benchmark score of 245 on antutu. The pocophone has reportedly scored 285 in tests according to this very site. The oneplus 6 has scored 282. The xiaomi mi shark has scored 289. Where's the compromise? Get back to me when you want make a comment of substance and substantiate it with facts and not some cryptic balderdash.

It'... moreit's the best bang for the buck phone yes BUT for me (and my group of friends) what we want is phone with top of the line specs with little to no compromises. this phone just doesnt fit the bill to us because tho it has the best soc so far at this price range, there are many compromises. we value quality over price. so no go for us.
