sq2013, 07 Sep 2018Not a chance. Loss leaders do not exist in the smartphone m... moreBTW I have had this for a week and it's battery life is far better than iPhone ( 8) or s7 edge which I have been using as my daily drivers. Plz cut the crap with ur nfc shite plz. The phone holds on it's own . Appreciate for what it is

satyajeet, 07 Sep 2018kangal......u r ri8 buddy @300$ they should have given ip6... moreYou're not getting it. To implement those features means more expensive components. Ths samsung galaxy s4 was not waterproof and shipped millions. Same with the iphone 5. I know people that still have them. They had to cut out exxpesnive features that could save money. To put an ip67 or ip68 rating, they'd likely have had to use metal rather than plastic. More expensive to build the phone. Less profit margin. Their margin is without doubt well lower than that of apple and samsung on this phone but they're gambling on selling huge numebrs and it will happen. I have just bought one. Two of my friends are buying one. I am in Ireland. Imagine how many will sell in Asia and particularly China, the world's biggest continent. It's quite easy not to expose your phone to liquids and also waterproof cases are available. This is not an essential feature and they could save a lot of money by cutting out this along with nfc and wireless charging and using that money instead on putting in a snapdragon 845 and lpdddr4 ram, the best cpu and memory components on the market. To get this out there at this price, they had to make compromises.

Anonymous, 07 Sep 2018Sold at a loss. So people get hooked in and then they jack ... moreNot a chance. Loss leaders do not exist in the smartphone market. Do you know how much inventory they would have to buy to build and stock this product? They are exploiting a niche. A niche that only exists because apple and samsung are so greeady in their pricing. It costs samsung 369 dollars to make a note 8 in terms of the actual component cost. Take into account they're bulk buying these components, it's probably loser to 300 dollars. On release you could not get the note 8 below 700 dollars. Iphone x 370 dollars. Retails minimum at 999 usd. That's well above a 50% markup. The pocophone does not have an nfc chip built in, does not support wireless charging. The iphone x is stainless steel. The pocophone is plastic. The pocophone uses gorilla glass 3. The iphone x uses a more expensive type of glass made by corning as well. The cost of the pocophone, considering the bulk buying savings they'd make and also no tv advertising which apple invest heavily in, is likely below 180 dollars. They're selling at 300 to 400 dollars depending on which version you go for. They're making serious profit but just are not taking the mickey out of customers by goign for fifty to sixty percent profit margins. This niche will continue to exist as apple and samsung are greedy so why move out of that niche into a higher priced segment and make small volumes of sales? This is innovation. This is smart and it's a giant pain in the ass for apple and samsung. If this gains traction, it changes everything in the smartphone market and I think it's not before time too that these cash cows were taken down a peg or two.

[deleted post]Since when MP describes quality of camera?

I wish people would stop nitpicking. It's quite simple. It's 300 euros. I just bought it. They packed in as many high quality components as possible and skimped a bit on the bells and whistles. Plastic casing and gorilla glass 3 not 4. So what? A case goes on my phone every time. Anyone that does not use a case is stupid so whether it's metallic or not, it does not matter. No nfc. Who cares? Nobody uses it. No waterproofing? Don't drop it in water or put a waterproof case on it. No wireless charging and comparatively slow charging? So what. Deal with it. Not a dealbreaker really is it? Does not have stock android? Let's be honest. Most people root their android to get rid of stock android which is pretty boring anyway. Camera is good but not amazing. Answer? Buy a camera. or just use the camera with the pocophone. It's more than adequate. Not everyone needs professional quality photography. These are minor drawbacks that saved a lot of money which helped give an amazing product with an unbelievable cost to performance ratio. Snapdragon 845? Big tick. Best processor on the market. 4000mah battery? Excellent. Plenty of juice when tied in with such a quality chipset, battery life will be very good. Notch? Annoying but one can get past it. 6 or 8gb of ram. Not just ram but the quickest lpddr4 ram when many manufacturers are lpddr3. Internal storage of 64 or 128gb with support for external storage on micro sd of up to 256gb.They have even managed to retain old favourites like the fm radio and the earphone 3.5mm jack so no messing about with adapters or wireless earbuds. It has an ips lcd panel which while less expensive than amoled is far better for screen and battery endurance. No burn in either which is a serial problem on amoled or super amoled. Where's the issue here? This is without question the best value smartphone on the market in terms of what you're getting for your money. If this works out, it's gonna be aserious pain in the ass for apple and samsung in particular. They'll be praying for this to flop. If it does not, they have a serious problem in regards to the ludicrous prices they're charging. Do you know that the mid range samsung galaxy A8 which only uses a snapdragon 660 or 636 is 200 euros more than the pocophone? That's just insane. You can get the pocophone on aliexpress right now for 328 euros including dhl express shipping and a free xiaomi mi band 3. Come on, it's a no-brainer and it shows up apple and samsung for what they are. I can't repeat what that is on here.

Kingslayer, 07 Sep 2018The oldest phone that I still have is a Xiaomi Mi 3. Had it... moreBro..I have used oneplus since when I opted out mi5 for oneplus 3...and I loved it
Nice camera..value for money...almost stock android (not stock ) etc...when it came to durability I must say...oneplus lacked in it...after more than 1 year of use as a primary phone , the volume rocker stopped working and it seemed to be an software issue...as it used to work continuously sometimes and stopped for few days...I searched the forum and I found out to be same problem with some of the users...I thought this would change with the software update. ..but it didn't. ..other problem I faced that the camera outer cover glass damaged...
There were few other problems I can't mention it all now.
I've ordered poco f1 in the last sale...i think it will be a better bet for you too...spending $250 more for better design and camera is foolish..
Regarding the stock android .....oxygen is close to stock but not stock ...but guess what poco allows you to flash custom rom without voiding your warranty....so no worry if you don't like miui ...plus camera quality is almost same as oneplus ...and spending so much money for camera will not be a wise decision according to me..and we all know that oneplus are not best in cameras...check the dxomark camera rating for both phones

                Nice wallpaper though!

Kingslayer, 07 Sep 2018The oldest phone that I still have is a Xiaomi Mi 3. Had it... moreThen you should shell out a little more for a real flagship which will have a real working second camera and some form of water resistance too. OP has lost its edge now, no longer a flagship killer, more like an underdog flagship now.

The oldest phone that I still have is a Xiaomi Mi 3. Had it for over 4 years. The battery can still hold a decent charge after updating it to Marshmallow. Started with KitKat. I like what Xiaomi is doing with the Poco F1 but I'd rather experience Oxygen OS for $200 more. I do like F1's plastic back and that it also comes in red.

Nice phone for the Indian market which is as highly critical with phones as anywhere else. Not catered for my taste as I need a semi-decent camera. Rather pay $250 more with the 6T if it offers better software, camera, fast face unlock, and perhaps in-display finger sensor. Smaller notch too.

OnePlus is calling. I ignored them back in 2014 for a Xiaomi. Won't do that again.

if you need more time than this on a phone maybe you don't need a removable battery, you need a life.

the only phone I owned that had removable battery was the only one that i needed to change it. blackberry z10.
