This ONLY affects Pixel 3 / 3XL onward. Sad day for Google. For other android one devices, they get an OPTION for gestures which MANY android users / truthers WILL TURN OFF after setting up Android Pie.

They have made some questionable software decisions going by previews, especially with the removal of the multitasking screen which is pretty much an essential part of android for me.
No 3.5 mm(expected) and no SD card slot makes it worse. Battery capacity makes it even worse.
At that price, its a big NO for me. Would rather spend it on an LG or Samsung flagship.

The notch is not bothering me, at all. The greatest failure of this device is the reduction in battery capacity. A truly bizarre choice. The sort of thing that HTC and LG would do. The notch will be hideable, the battery performance won't.

Google officially announces another overpriced, crippled pixel phone.
(Applause!)
No micro sd card slot to force you to waste data and pay monthly for cloud services, or to force you to choose overpriced larger internal storage options which you can't transfer should your phone die or should you change/upgrade phones, and best of all, no micro sd card expansion to accelerate wear and tear to phone's internal memory especially when you're heavy on recording 4k videos for family and social occasions or downloading 4k movies for offline playback.
No dual sim too because it wants users to be at the mercy of a single LTE provider that periodically experiences network slowdowns leaving you with no options other than swapping with another sim card from another network. And it's an exciting experience for travellers too, swapping home network sim with foreign country sim because data roaming charges from home network are ridiculous.
No headphone jack too, so that if you are a music lover, you buy instead the yearly disposable bluetooth earbuds with microscopic irreplaceable batteries that once worn out/dead, you charge 3x a day or you throw it out and buy a new one. Best of all, if you are a music lover, you get exposed to several hours of bluetooth radiation daily in your brain, which, is 'harmless' according to current studies. That, or you purchase/use a stupid adapter you keep on losing and prevents you from charging the phone at the same time.
Oh, and that low capacity sealed battery too. The smaller, the better because it will go to deep discharge levels daily which is detrimental to battery life and longevity and make you replace your phone faster.
And to top it all, the biggest notch in the whole wide world because it has iphone envy. Google likes notches and has iphone envy that's why it's against any revival of a dark theme. Bright white colored interface because well, it hides screen burn ins and image retention better (while hurting the indoor user's eyes) and bright, white themes accelerates screen damage too and speeds up battery drain and hence battery wears out faster.
Ladies and gentlemen, that is what Google has envisioned as the ideal Android phone. The Pixel phones.

After the successful Pixel 2 XL I was waiting to see the new Pixel 3 to change my phone, but not any more. Ican not tolerate that ugly notch!!!!

This is just a test phone. To test the latest Android OS, to test the latest Android features.
So its designed to include all worse possible features. Notch for nothing, chin for nothing, no jacks, no sd slots, limited ram to test low ram cases, limited battery capacity to test low battery management. Wireless Android Auto debugging.
If you are not a developer, i do not recommend getting this phone as a daily driver. Even promoters themselves will not subject themselves to use this phone.

xD this phones design from the leaks looks horrible, I dont know if Google cares, or knows, but this is so stupid and annoying that they’re copying Apple. Please STOP android should know better...

Zero interest in notchy phones and those without a stylus, but v keen to see if a replacement for the awesome Pixelbook is launched with just one fix over previous: A keyboard backlight that doesn't blend in with the keys!

The smaller Pixel 3 will likely be the more popular of the two whilethe Pixel 3 XL is likely dead on arrival because of how it looks (fugly notch, still has a huge chin), not to mention how it appears to be overpriced for its specs.

Oh boï, I wouldn't be google's marketing dude who's gonna walk on stage to present phones that are a surprise to no one, and a deception to many.
At least we have the regular Pixel 3 to save the party.
It's time for google to hire actual designers.

I still have hopes that this disgusting notch is a well planned joke, and that Google will unveil a truly beautiful P3XL on stage. Yeah it's less than likely to happen, but it's also absurd that Google did validate such a terrible design.
Come on ! Theses are Google's phones, they're supposed to provide the most genuine Android experience, both Hardware and software wise. But still we got a Notch and some iPhone X multitasking on Android 9.0.
