3DMARK is just a number
I have mate 10 and he Still bettery queilty than to plastic over price phones like samsung and i phone so what is the 3DMARK on mate 10 now 500 point
Nokia 7 Plus is weak i 3DMARK but in real life he running 3D games and emulators better than lg g7 and nokia 7 is SD660 not 845

[deleted post]So why does the score drop in the modified version of the benchmarks? You know 3D benchmarks app are basically graphic intensive games built for testing purpose, right? If the software really boosts up the performance when it detects that games are being played, the scores in modded benchmarks should be identical to the normal ones.

Nick Tagataka, 08 Sep 2018This is not OC though, it's their EMUI limiting the phones ... moreIts not about OC, its about peak performance. Indeed Kirin 970 are a fully capable flagship grade performance chipset, and they are limiting it on normal usage.

But no, benchmark was never a representative of real world usage for mobile devices, unlike PC which can have continuous high power draw and cooling. It was just that Huawei wasn't transparent about limiting their chipset capability in normal usage, or how the "AI" trigger the "performance mode".

Adul Al Salami Kebab, 08 Sep 2018This is fake news. It is not cheating it is called turbo! T... more1- there's no need to spam the same answer for different users then post it again.

2- your nickname is tasty.. the last part ;)

3- as far as I know Turbo mode is only for GPU and only for apps that support it.

4- I haven't heard of any Turbo mode by Huawei other than the GPU Turbo (but would be glad if you point me to where it's mentioned)
so technically it's cheating since 3Dmark doesn't support the gpu Turbo.

        5- did I mention I like kebab?

With the cheating trend every now and then I'd be surprised to find someone who didn't cheat.

Because 40... moreMy Huawie P20 pro is performing very well, very usefull EMUI very flexible and cater all my business and personal preferences. EMUI with the Ai is very well designed and practical that understands you. It doesn't matter to me what your papers are telling, because I see the real difference as a very satisfied end user of this product. Every owner of this gem can say and surely we don't bother at all. Go huawei, still have a lots of bombs to drop.

H-1, 07 Sep 2018All of this is nothing important to the average users. M... moreWhile that's indeed true, the fact that Huawei did try to cheat on us and make their phones look better than it actually is will still remain. I'm certain that they will stop this BS in next Mate 20 series, or at least provide us a separate "performance mode" toggle in the settings.
It may be forgivable, but certainly not forgettable and they just permanently damaged their own reputation.

b3rvirus, 08 Sep 2018Testing the peak performance of your device, isn't this wha... moreThis is not OC though, it's their EMUI limiting the phones with Kirin 970 from running at its peak performance in every single app apart from some benchmarks, in order to decrease the power draw and extend the battery life. So basically Kirin 970 is a capable high-end chipset which is restricted by the software to run like a midrange... truly pathetic.
And since benchmarks should be the representation of the devices' real world performance, this kind of behaviour is simply not acceptable.

                                They tell lies on benchmarks
Lie at conferences and hold back promised features for their flagship phones.
                                Disgusting.

Testing the peak performance of your device, isn't this what benchmarking is all about?

PC overclockers do this all the time, using liquid nitrogen cooling, gets to 5 or 6 GHz frequency, just to get as high benchmark score as possible, they never run it at 6 GHz when gaming for 4 hours. Even video card manufacturers today has "OC mode" to get peak performance for few minutes (just for benchmark), and "game mode" for longer usage.

If Huawei is "cheating", then every single overclockers in this world is also a cheater. Futuremark themself should know this the most.

Anonymous, 08 Sep 2018Huawei growing too big too fast. All out bliz to bring them... moreHuawei ripping you off and you defend them...

They didn’t just push their phones a little bit. Because 40% is a huge margin!

I know that lots of their fans now feel ripped off. And they are ripped off!
Appropriate punishment would be to make Huawei refund 100% of money people paid for their devices if people decide to return them. Because some would maybe not buy them at a first place if it wasn’t for lies!
