goodbye htc

I don't know, but HTC needs to stick ONLY on VR products.

Yeah crap cheap brand and phone conquer the mobile market.....

Where HTC is now is where LG and Sony will be in the mobile industry in 3-5 years.

Samsung might be the most popular OEM, but the only real contenders in my eyes will always be between a Google Pixel and Apple iPhone. This is about true Android vs iOS. Samsung is just a third-party stealing money from Google's own OS.

Will never go back to Samsung with their awful software skin that ages badly after a few years. I want Day 1 software performance by Year 3, 4, and 5.

Cost is too high for a also ran experience.

Bang for buck is not favorable to consumer.

For price, hardware is lack luster at best.

          Even flagship is meh.

Self entitled high worth is nothing more than a delusion. Stay smugly entitled, stay irrelevant.

I think HTC has pricing and availability problem

Chinese brands took the latter, as did Blackberry and Nokia.
Motorola is struggling with the former, as is LG and, to a lesser extent, Motorola, Sony and Lenovo.
How long will they survive is anyone's guess, but HTC's noose seems to be pretty tight now.

P10 was as unnecessary as U Ultra and XZs. Even worse than these two at everything.

Any phone that looks like iPhone will be success in China. Look at how many from Huawei, Vivo, Meizu and Xiaomi remind of iPhone 6, iphone7+ and X ..

60% of Huawei sales come from Honor. The Honor flagships cost same of flagships 2017 from other brands despite being worse.

Vivo and Oppo have many phones that still use MICRO USB and do not have NFC. Phones that cost sometimes more than $600.

Xiaomi does not include NFC nor USB C for Redmi devices, also still using SD625 from 2016. They love to copy other brands. The Mi Mix is based on Sharp Crystal ( 2014), mi8 is poor copy of iPhone and Mix3 may be like Oppo Find X.

Xhxhyy, 09 Sep 2018Why don't change focus on mid-range and upper-mid class? Xi... moreBecause it is dumb idea to make a midrange with SD8xx.
Even worse to use cpu from previous year like Honor.

By the way Honor Play was caught cheating benchmark.

I really like HTC, they have created some awesome handsets and have been our main drivers for the last 3 handsets. I do hope things turn around. I think personally that some of the high gloss, bubble looking, glass backs lost me on a few models. Love to see some metal back or mat glass back phones, back to some solid basics like the 10 and even the A9.. which is gorgeous but a beefed up model along the same lines. Or metal backed contoured units like the One S but with todays aspect ratio of say the Nokia X6 Plus. Add some budget to advertising and spread in the North American market among others.

Why don't change focus on mid-range and upper-mid class? Xiaomi has done it. Poco is their prove. A great 300-400 $ US device is almost non-existent. Poco and Honor Play are the prove. HTC should focus in this segment.

Anyways, the U12 Plus has some really weird situation with battery life, it seems to be ok on paper, but in endurance testing it lasts a lot shorter than its rivals.

It's a shame, HTC make really good phones and one less mainstream manufacturer will make the Android selection a poorer place with less choice.

In a crowded market, they need to be more innovative. How about smaller compact phones with flagship specs? Sony currently has that sewn up all to themselves and the XZ2 Compact was rubbish. Surely HTC can come up with some better.

You must own a Huawei P20 pro, and looking for any way possible to convince yourself that you made the right choice.

I think HTC could sell their brand to some big ODM like TCL, since they want to enter the smartphone consumer market, they seem to have the money and resources but no public mind share.

HTC was a top dog years ago , but now they just embody the phrase
