                Htc is not located in China, where many people work 16h daily, have lower salary compared to USA/Taiwan/Japan/South Korea, tons of patents are broken..
                Htc has R/D secton, most of chinese brands do not

                    HTC and Sony need to smell the coffee and realize they're no longer at the level of Apple and Samsung. Sure they are in terms of expertise, but in marketing and keeping consumers, they've lost it.

                    Now is the time to adopt the Xiaomi, Oppo, and Huawei model. Target the midrange and entry-level stratas aggressively. Nokia is doing the exact same thing and they aren't hemorrhaging. The market for flagships is thinning as there's now the affordable flagship segment and upper mid range segment that have very decent alternatives for many people who in times past would only have considered high-end flagships.

                    They can start a sub-brand if they have to, to separate their premium line from the new bottom-of-the-barrel targeting. They need more people to remember HTC still produces amazing phones. They need to rebuild their user base.

                      Can I give suggestion to HTC?
                      1. Step down lady chairman/CEO
                      2. Promote back to Peter and prove as the dawn of HTC Desire /M7/M8
                      3. Terminate and hire better market and design team
                      4. Learn to copy good things. Not a crap removing 3.5mm
                      5. Don't lie to consumer and loyal customer. E.g. U ultra is flat ship and then later come out another flagship in a year.
                      6. Keep your promise, for instance. U AI learning is sky falling but later not a single drop of rain
                      7. Do better research and see you can do it or not. No empty promise.
                      8. Make a best features flatship phones and support/update regularly
                      9. Learn how oppo/huawei are innovative and their strategy.
                      10. Quit making LCD and invent better LED with less buzzle.
                      11. ARVR, do you think you can be best, don't give stupid reason. Their are better device out there with better Look and functionality. How many VR you can sell then phone? Don't you think Samsung will invent much better VR/AR than you and take over market like they did in hand phone.
                      12. If you have not enough time for 2019. Prepare best for early 2020 around march.

Ingress protection is not just against water, b... moreThe problem is that the htc is 50% more expensive than the op6 and it has some stifling drawbacks like horrible battery life and a screen that isn't very bright. And the crazy amount of money htc demands for the u12 plus means sensible people have htc a wide berth and chose something else instead. The htc u12 life is a more sensible launch but still priced too high. I feel another year or two and htc will be forced to shut their mobile business. They just seem to be out of touch with what customers want in a phone.

                            This is expect. A company which was supposed to put up super economical flagship is putting up 100,000+ devices here (More expensive than Huawei P20 Pro). This is bound to happen. Wonder they also got Elop somewhere in the ranks.

                                  Cost / benefit ratio doesn't favor HTC, and it has been so for several years now.
                                  To improve it they should reduce the price of their products, add more bells and whistles without raising the price, and ideally both, at least until they aren't in the red anymore.

                                    Ingress protection is not just against water, but dust too. I hope you know that dust can damage electronics from inside and cause overheating. It can also avoid accident in case you drop your phone into water. They do not say you should dive with your phone. Certification costs money too, it is not just hardware cost.

                                    HDR10 will provide better images, no matter type of screen. There are good oled and bad oled, good lcd and bad lcd.

                                    Last year OP was caught sending data to China. They said it was not supposed to happen to the Oxygen version just Hydrogen.

                                    OP was caught cheating benchmarks , cpu throttle did not happen only during benchmarks. But it was there during games or 4K videos.

                                    Check the samples of GSMA reviews. Even Mi8 take better shots than OP6. U12+ does much better than Note 9. Also U12+ has camera with optical zoom while the secondary of OP6 is useless. Videos of lower bitrate than u12 with worse audio recording.

                                    I doubt 6T will be 9.0 out of box. Then in november u12 will have it.

                                    Htc was the first to bring many stuff to mobile. One Plus does not do new stuff. Just another iPhone wannabe..

                                    6T will be just another waterdrop notched phone that cares nore about amount of ram than the rest..

                                    Insert 8GB/256GB + SD845 inside Galaxy A6+ then it will be better than op6.

                                      Maybe a strategic retreat is in order. Loss^loss is no good. Center back on the essentials: your doomed VR market has to go. Take back what made your mobile phones iconic. The HTC One, the M8.. inovative UI. Ultra quality build. High mods and custom ROM potential. Good midrange phones. HEADPHONE JACK!!!
