Now the only thing we have to worry about is sitting down (forgetting the bendable phone in your jeans pocket) and end up bending the display and inadvertently emailing that lame photo you took of yourself to all your contacts.

The fact is nokia is over all out of peoples mind as they really have limited software and no one is willing to make software for nokia unlike Android or Apple i OS.
Its really pathetic seeing their stubborness not to go for Android what is really best os right now for Mobile system. They are trying for Windows what I dont see any market at all unless u are dumb u'll go for windows phone.
Nokia once upon a time made really some nice durable phone still I'm using one of their good phone E63. But I've moved to Android due to its lots of software availability and Samsung Galaxy S2 is the greatest phone right now in the market if you compare with I phone 4s.
Those who are using foul language belittling Android or I phone I will say you guys really don't have any clue whats going around and just being like moron will only bring wasting time and life for you guys in todays Android and I Phone world. I can not see the future but what I predict Good Bye Nokia for being stubborn!

i remember an article in gsmarena where it features a futuristic nokia concept of a phone which you can bend around, if i remember it right using nano-technology.

i guess this is a big step towards that vision.

Here's one from samsung, it was shown and announced earlier this year at tech show.
The first few are shown encased for display, and towards the end (fourth one) is the phone that I want now.

Almost all companies have been experimenting in this type of technology for some time now.
Here are just two links, one of sony and one of samsung,,,

Sony, yes screen is flexible but there is some noticeable damage to the screen. Streaks + stretch marks:

Samsung, now this is the way forward. This is what real flexibility looks like + indestructible:

This is rather stupid. Watching that video and navigating the phone by twisting and squeezing etc. is just stupid vs a touch screen which is much easier. I guess there is potential use of a flexible screen, navigation is not one of them in my opinion.

This is interesting. Now bring on flexible battery, flexible cpu, gpu, ram and most importantly cobra glass which may not be as hard as gorilla glass but really flexible.
