They are almost as bad as Apple, in that, they are WORSE than Apple.
Our only solace is with Samsung, and the niche* brands like OnePlus and Xiaomi.
And for people saying Steve Jobs is rolling in his grave. Nope.
Steve Jobs would have made the same decision to kill the headphone jack, and add IP68 protection to offset the unhappy people. The only decision Steve Jobs would NOT have done is to make a notch. He would be on board to have the 2.5D curved sides and the round-cut corners. But he would've instead used TouchID in the display in 2017, and used a crappy-quality one, and instead upgraded it to an okay-quality TouchID in 2018, and later incorporate a good-quality TouchID inside the display in 2019 that's only when the competitors would be able to properly counter.
*niche to the Western Markets, devices like OnePlus 6 and the Xiaomi Mi A2.

Doesn't benefit the consumers since audio companies are still manufacturing 3.5mm headphones. Looks like Samsung is the sole top company which still retains the jack.
