Shame... (Puts credit card back in the wallet).

Doesn't he know a headphone jack is mandatory for gaming? Wireless have huge lag. So u can't use both the headphones & charger now.
It'll still have a 3300mah battery & no usb 3.1 for hdmi. Pathetic!

So you have the choice between Samsung, LG & Huawei flagships if you want a headphone jack. :D

Back when the OP3 was out, I honestly thought the next one (what I thought would be OP4 at the time) would be my next phone. Ever since they brought out the 5 though their releases have just been getting less and less appealing. It's too bad, I wouldn't have predicted that OnePlus would change direction so much within a couple of years.

Anonymous, 13 Sep 2018But who does not like 200maH additional battery capacity? A... moreMost customers would prefer a hf jack with a 3800 mah battery than no hf jack and 4000 mah battery.
Meanwhile, as mentioned above, Samsung has a 4k mah battery, a hf jack, an S pen, a top of the line camera module, high stb ration, expandable storage along with IP68 rating all crammed in a single device.
There's a reason why the Note9 deserves to be the best phone in the market. No compromises at all, everything top of the line while retaining the good old jack.

It's the way the market is going and no one of you wants to see it even the media. I read a lot of articles but I don't comment all the time. I see the pattern but here most of you judge the companies who don't make sales but let pass the ones who are famous and have everything. All of you are judging stupid on brand when in general all the industry is doing.
I'm a technologist more than being a fan but I do criticise the companies too but most of the media criticise the companies that lose sales and don't market not ht big ones who does the stupidest choices.
Yes it is serious when read the patterns because you will know who will lose this round and who will win.

The V40 is shaping up to be a solid phone since they confirmed stereo speakers and the return of their Quad-DAC in the jack combo they have. As an audiohead that I am, I'm freakin excited.

So now Samsung is the only OEM left that offers OLED, No notch, microSD slot, headphone jack, waterproofing, NFC, and wireless charging.

                              Seems almost perfect.
They're only missing out on a removable battery (compensated with fast-charging/big battery), and stereo speakers (a la Razer Phone/Axon7/Pixel 2XL), and pure AndroidOS and long-term support (no solution for TouchWizz/custom ROMs difficult to bypass bootloader).

Anonymous, 13 Sep 2018heavy whining incoming above....It's not whining. It's backlash. OnePlus's whole selling point was "Never Settle", and now they're asking their users to settle down. Not gonna work out well for them, especially when there is healthy competition available to choose from.

Many OnePlus users will simply switch over to Xiaomi/Honor devices instead.
