This is what made OnePlus insufferable to me over the years, they ask questions to the community to which they already know the answer and then overhype "hearing the community" into the oblivion... only to months later do a complete flip-flop, effing over the community, but sell that as if they were heroes.

Thanks Carl Pei, you lied to us. As a loyal OnePlus fan I trusted OnePlus. You said OnePlus will not be following other brands ditching the headphone jack. That trust is gone.

With one feature less, it should rename itself ONEMINUS instead of ONEPLUS.
Heck, They should also consider removing its logo from the phone and add some more tech in its place

Anonymous, 13 Sep 2018OnePlus has "officially" joined Apple's COURAGE cult after ... moreYup. Let's not forget that there are devices like the Note9 which have a 3.5 mm jack and can hold a whole S-Pen inside it, yet have enough space for a 4000 mAh battery. At least, Sony has the guts to openly say that, they are removing the 3.5 mm jack because everyone else is doing it.
I really hope to welcome back HTC and Huawei into the sensible fold. They have taken the right steps by bringing back the 3.5 mm jack in some mid-range phones. Now, they need to bring back the 3.5 mm jack in all their flagships too.

With that, I'm perfectly settled with my Nokia 8. One of OnePlus's main reasons to ditch the Headphone Jack is that they have headphones with USB-C with a DAC on it. Are they trying to be like HTC when they removed the jack because of their groundbreaking U-Sonic headphones?
I'll buy a jackless phone unless Audio Technica, AKG, Beyerdynamic, Sennheiser and other bigshot headphone companies decided to include a short jack to USB-C cable on every box which is the unlikeliest decision ever. All we have left for a smartphone with 3.5mm jack is Samsung, mostly Nokia, LG and that's all I could think off.

“Making a great phone doesn't mean putting every component available into the device,” says Pei. A survey by the company revealed that more than half of OnePlus owners used wireless headphones. And it’s an old survey, predating the launch of OnePlus’ own Bullets Wireless headphones.
The volume that was freed up by the 3.5mm jack would be use to fit new tech. Pei hints at improved battery life and other add-ons, but did not give away any details."
I call this bs, illogical, inconvenience, unpractical.

AnonD-632062, 13 Sep 2018Another one bites the dust. It's clear that OnePlus is n... moreOnePlus has "officially" joined Apple's COURAGE cult after Axon, Qualcomm, Oppo, Sony, Xiaomi, Motorola. The good news is Huawei and HTC has abandoned Apple's COURAGE cult. OnePlus's partner, Oppo has already ditched the jack and microsd slot in Find X. We thought OnePlus will stick with the jack, but alas I KNEW once his partner Oppo removes it, I predict OnePlus is going to do the SAME and here we are. OnePlus is bad enough for not including the microsd slot as STANDARD in their flagships except OnePlus X, adding a NOTCH in OnePlus 6. At least OnePlus 6 and previous series, they have included jack as STANDARD. And the "excuse" given by OnePlus is bs as there is SPACE for the jack.

Even though I have hearing problems that don't allow me to enjoy headphones I completely understand people being upset about this.
I thought One plus was all about "never settle".
But this year they are slowly turning into a sheep company starting with that notch and glass back and now this.
On the bright side I am looking forward to that bigger battery and new camera tech (maybe it will finally be on part with the big boys)
So it's not all bad.
