For me, Apple would never had to release the iPhone X ... After the iPhone8 / plus it would have release iPhone with the name iPhone 9 and on the desing side to stay like the iPhone8 / Plus with the only difference,Oled screen no other change .. Not Notch, no 19: 5: 9 on screen, not gestures ... But Apple release the very bad desing choice iPhoneX with sky high price and now sequels with also same bad desing and prices again very high ... Apple will land abruptly

Iphone X is killed because it will be priced at sale for only $650 US and people lose their mind, making XR and XS obsolete. The sale of iPhone X will increase because XR and XS is far too expensive.

I used 3 handsets and compared them next to each other.
Lumia 920, iPhone 7 plus, Galaxy s6 edge.
All apps and games which are available among 3 platform are almost identical In quality with their size difference.
You can try yourself. 2nd handed handsets can be found if its not around you.

If you are just carefull of your phone, like you should do with any phone, there is no reason to have a phone with a better drop test result. Granted, it's nice your phone doesn't break everytime you lay it down a little too hard, but the iphones are more than capable of staying intact then too. People who are obsessed with drop test results, even when they are just slightly better than other phones, are just uncarefull people in my opinion, that don't seem to know how expensive and fragile all phones are these days.

There are some who still ranting about notches when most new android phones also has them.
I was expecting more or something from apple innovation wise and there was nothing.
Bezel-less trend began in the beginning of 2017 and by mid-2018 we have phones like Vivo nex , Oppo find X and Huawei P20 pro in the android realm. Apple has much bigger R&D team and all it could come up with was bigger screen and incremental chipset update.
