Good job, Apple should send some money to you but they're selfish so you would never get a dime.
Even if your thoughts are true, you are delusional because Apple have set a higher bar (XS), making it look the XR has good value. The XR is more expensive than most previous iPhones.
The XR appears to be a stop gap for people who couldn't burn $1000 and buying the 2nd hand stuff like the X. The specs and features of the XR are just good enough so it is more compelling to get that than a used iPhone X.

RED iPhone XR AKA iPhone Ferrari Edition. It's called 10R because the hottest one is in RED.
Best battery, value, and isn't prone to scratches on the band like the X/Xs are. An actual 128 GB option for only $50 more instead of Apple's trap of 64/256 GB with $150 difference. An LCD that will lasts longer in life and more efficient with battery life.
Considering this 10R likely won't get updated next year, you won't feel so bad when the newer one comes out to replace the 10S. Plus, doesn't 10R sound better to say? I don't want a phone that sounds like the sport that Serena Williams plays.
This is the one to get, folks. Offering the best value for an iPhone since the SE and 5c days. There won't be a successor to it next year to make you feel like you wasted so much money. Apple doesn't care about budget iPhones in volume and they certainly don't want it to cannibalize their most expensive stuff.
This can hold you over until the iPhone 11 or even 11S seeing the 5G iPhone 11 could get very, very pricey. Considering I also have an SE, having another iPhone with Lightning Connector would be nice to have so they can switch between charges with the same cord.
Predictions for the iPhone XR -
Most popular model over the XS/XS Max.
Won't have a successor next year but maybe in 2020.
R and S need to coincide to prevent confusion.
Red, black, and blue options will be the most popular.
Will be discounted to $100 less in a year.
Will be very popular in Asia thanks to dual-sim & $.
Could end up being the last iPhone to use LCD.
The iPhone 6 is the best-selling iPhone of all-time. I believe the XR (middle-ground size of the XS and XS Max) could end up being the 2nd best selling ever. Like the 6, I expect the XR to be in the market for a good FOUR years eventually headed for the prepaid.

Honestly I was expecting a new better selfie cam from the new trio.They still mount the old(or maybe new) but mediocre front camera,without even the force touch and fingerprint reader!?!
Seems iphone 7 Plus isnt as outdated as they trying to be.
