Iphones i liked...3G, 4s, 5s, 6 and 6s series... Then bye bye apple!

IPhone is great example what you can do when you do your own thing and only improve that and never lost the focus. First iPhone lack many features which other phones had, but they had something completely new for return. Every year they added those features which they didn't had and same time they improved those areas where they were leader. Every year iPhone was more ready for masses and still Apple haven't lost the focus or or their own thing which they been doing since launch. They have their own OS and ecosystem which no else can touch.

In long run they always going to be winner, we will see many switching Android companies collecting the leftovers, but Apple will always going to be in top because they can offer something what no-one else can't.

Just because people have no common sense and no self-respect (And as a result Apple is successful) doesn't mean their product doesn't suck.

All sh!..t. apple just ruined Symbian who was the best OS and ruined the market of feature phones that was beautiful, colorful and exciting . Now all the cellphones are same because of apple. And now apple is going to destroy the market of cheap smartphones too with encouring the other companies to augment their prices . That means we the cosumers will loose again 😣

Forgot to mention how the first iphone demoed onstage in 2007 was a prototype and needed having exclusive at&t equipment to show off its fast internet and Jobs switching models because it overheats with constant use.

The most reasonable argument against iPhones is the cost. Hence, if I was locked-in to the iOS Ecosystem than here's the way I would've purchased and upgraded my device over the years:

                      ………2009 3GS < 4 < 4S < 6 < 6S Plus < Xr ….2019

And based on the cost of Brand New Unlocked iPhones in the international market (USA doesn't count, its much cheaper there), here's how much money I would've spent:
                      Buy: $1100, $950, $900, $999, $1300, $1200 the average price upon release
                      Sell: $600, $600, $200, $500, $350 sell asap when you've made the upgrade
                      Net: ($6,500 buy) - ($2,300 sell) = ~$4,200 over 10 years, or $420 yearly, $35 monthly, $8 weekly, or $1.15 daily

PS: I would expect this $420 figure to double and triple if you have a habit of buying more frequently, or selling too late, or buying the models with >64GB capacity.

PSS: I'm not in the iOS Ecosystem, just to be clear.

Man, seriously, the history of these companies are really interesting. Keep it up GSMArena!

But regarding displays, Nokia used OLED screens way back in their mid 2000s N Series, which are now popularised as AMOLED or similar screens. Great camera stills were captured best back in Nokia phones which had Carl Zeiss Tessar lens. Waterproofing was popularized by Sony Xperia Z. Small USB port were used back in late 2000s with USB 2.0, if you're referring to reversible, yes Apple gave a power to invent the now popular USB C ports.

Every Apple iPhone made history from Original iPhone to iPhone 6S ONLY UNTIL the headphone jack was dropped from iPhone 7 onward and ridiculous "trendy" FUGLY NOTCH came along from iPhone X onward. This is because of the "less is more" approach bs from iPhone 7 onward which were already planned by Tim C(r)ook since Steve Jobs died in 2011.
Steve Jobs would have no eyes to see on today's Apple because there is lack of innovation (except a few). And not mentioning the dropping of STANDARD stuff (*cough* headphone jack *cough*) on iPhone 7 onward, now "affecting" iPad Pro which will be announced soon.

laggdroids, 16 Sep 2018In short Apple is Bran Stark. But don't forget Apple popularised (not invented) certain expectations of our phones:
                              - A high-quality Digital Applications Store
                              - Great designed User Interface
                              - An uncluttered physical hardware
                              - Smooth glass and capacitive touchscreens
                              - Cutting edge performance
                              - High quality displays
                              - High quality cameras
                              - Excellent customer care
                              - A profitable industry for investors
                              - Leading security system
                              - Very long software support
                              - A cohesive ecosystem
                              - A smaller USB port
                              - Very secure (and fast) fingerprint authentication
                              - Modest Waterproofing

Now I'm not saying they deserve 100% credit, but you have to realise that if Apple never made an iPhone the industry would be decades behind. We would have multiple online stores, with very little software security and customer support. Innovations in UI and software would be glacially slow. The big companies wouldn't be as profitable, and the smaller start-ups would have more trouble. Forget about waterproofing. There would be a million dongles and no symmetry or simplicity. The whole thing wouldn't be as fast, or as visually rich, or connected. But the cameras would still be good lol.

[deleted post]Your statement takes me back to 2007.
As of today your statement is nullified.

Other manufactures may have price range over different models with its hardware at its range, which makes sense. Apple releasing 3 models with only change in the screens and keeping a single camera and charging enormous amount makes no sense at all.

Apple may release software updates to even 5 year old iPhones, but when it comes to UX features even Android 5.0/6.0 can beat iOS 11(as iOS 12 yet to be released). Remember, facial unlocking was present back in Android 4.1/4.2 which has been added only in iOS 11. So I dont envy that iPhones have good software life, coz my android already has had those features which have now been more matured.

BTW I used iPhone 7+ for 15 good months.
