What?! It hasn't even been a year and it's already unsupported? Say it ain't so, LG! Just bring on Gingerbread then update it to ICS next year.

LG Mobile Facebook page tells a different story.

                  The question:
Will the LG Optimus 2X be updated to Ice Cream Sandwich? I read that ICS supports multi-core processors. I am aware that the hardware on the phone is more than capable of running the new Android OS and since it has not yet been updated to Gingerbread, I really hope that things turn around with ICS.

Answer: Hey Rahul, We do have a plan to update Ice Cream Sandwich. Now we are working on it! When the date is set we will let you know through Facebook! Please check our wall regularly! Cheers

grv, 29 Oct 2011Ur adorable sony ericsson had ditched SE Satio users for no... moreSE Satio started with Symbian OS v9.4,Series 60 rel 5.

Symbian is getting old and has aged over the years. It has lived its purpose.....I adored Symbian and used Nokia all the time until I switch to Android and also iOS for new technology and experience.

Nokia should have embraced Android.....I'll stay with them. That was one of the main reason Nokia's fall in sales together with Sony's volume.....they realized it too late. This gave Apple, Samsung and HTC the opportunities to grow.

My family and I'm still have all my Nokia Symbians in my collection.

There is nothing much Sony could do.....that is why it has to adopt Android OS to stay in the market.

If Sony fails to maintain its update, I'll also abandon it. We are all the consumers.....we choose the best that services us.....that is norm for the telcos survival.

I felt sad and sorry for myself and Symbian users.

LG handsets have always been made to be replaced in a year or so. It's the way they've always done it, and it's the way they'll always do it.

This is a huge fail by LG. Now noone will never see the true power of 2x. 4.0 is the first Adroid to truly fully support dual-core. So sad news.

Hmm i just have something on my mind about this situation and i think the people is getting wrong message or may be GSMarena too.. o.0. Don't you guys realize the meaning of the sentences in there? If not, read it again...

"Dear Anant, We will not be introducing Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich updates on LG Optimus 2X P990. Keep watching this space for further updates"

Since O2X haven been upgrade to Gingerbread yet, in that sentences, there is no prove that ICS will not given for O2X in next time. LG declare will not be introducing Android 4.0 becoz 2.3 haven introduce to the phone yet. So, there is possible to get some good news "KEEP WATCHING THIS SPACE FOR FURTHER UPDATE"....Believe it or not, this is just my thoughts =)
