LG has probably accepted the fact that their neighbour, Samsung, is going to eat up all the remaining marketshare left from Apple fanboys and -girls. Why bother if you don't stand a chance? I wouldn't be surprized if they already had converted their R&D department to support...

AnonD-28182, 29 Oct 2011I don't think you can blame LG for this yet. It's Nvidia... moreTEGRA 2 doesn't have NEON hardware. But they will include it in TEGRA 3

LG played-out its LG 2X (including 3D and B) mobile users wholesale.

A turbo-charge engine hardware using low-octane fuel software.

They are stucked at 2nd gear (Froyo 2.2), awaiting for 3rd gear (GB 2.3) and lost the 4th gear (ICS 2.4 or 4.0).

                  What an irony?

                      It's Nvidia's Fault not LG's
They have not released the code to developers to allow NEON SIMD support yet or high profile H264.And unlock 1080p playback of flash.

Nivida has kept this locked for some reason in the Tegra 2. About time you let developers use these now!

I'm sick of this , but Nvidia should just release this so LG can build us ICS.

Best bet for Android would probably be Motorola who would have internal plans with Google on device support. Even Samsung would be uncertain after this. Naturally Google will have vested interest in Motorola succeeding, no matter how fair they try to be.

Dual core and can't run ICS, that's very telling on the state of Android.

Even iPhone 3GS runs iOS 5, wtf? I guess they expect Andros fans are made of money and just buy a new phone?

If you want a (somewhat) reliable Android phone, go with Samsung or HTC. And (perhaps) Motorola. Not LG or SE.

That sucks. You buy their highest end device and then get buttraped like this. I don't think anyone with X2 will be returning to LG anytime soon...

My next phone after the current old but excellent original HTC Wildfire will be purely based on whether it can run Cyanogen or not. I don't care about the official support because quite frankly, ALL phones have shitty software support. HTC conviencing me that Wildfire can't run Gingerbread. Well i'm using Gingerbread Cyanogen build and the Wildfire has never worked so well with any official OS (it arrived with Froyo 2.2.1). So first thing that i'll look will be factory unlocked bootloader, easily rootable and supported by Cyanogen. I'm just tired of the Android nonsense where companies artificially block users from latest versions just so they'll buy new phone every damn 3 months. Right, and i'm shitting money instead of bricks. Not many can afford new phone for 600 EUR every few months and if you get used to something and you like it, it's really crappy to change it just to stay up to date.

Could this be the reason Nokia go for Android, because they want their phones be used always..?
