Remember the AirPower? Apple doesn't

23 September 2018
We were given a sneak peek in 2017, but Apple's AirPower still hasn't seen the light of day. With nothing forthcoming from Apple, has it been canceled or delayed?

All good and fine, but I don’t understand the big deal about this “displaying status of other devices”? Why the question of why Apple shows this on promo material? It is a simple and already available function. Get a battery widget on your lock screen and it shows the battery status of all devices connected to the iDevice. Like AirPods, Apple pen, or whatever.

Luxor, 24 Sep 2018AirPower what? Meanwhile, Apple has halted iPhone X product... moreIn all honesty, they could've at least put a 10 watt charger. Because of the small battery, it would charge in pretty good time. But no, Apple just has to save money even after hitting 1 trillion. I can understand that they're hesitant to give us the 18 watt as it would make us dependent on it and then make it harder for wireless charging to become a thing, but not even 10 watts? A shame to, since I really like their products.

Anonymous, 24 Sep 2018Remember in display fingerprint sensor ?! Apple doesn't..Actually, there was a patent they filed that is an optical reader, but has something else that makes it more secure and fast.

I work a lot, and sell mobiles for a living. The comments on this site literally have me and my colleagues rolling in tears sometimes! Brilliantly foolish, and loyal with a capital T!

They'll announce a new wireless charger as the only way to charge 2019 iPhones and on, along it the AirPower Mat too.

Dude please do not to hard to apple, apple only amnesia please be patient you know between amnesia with alzheimers .yeah apple between that sick lol....so we must be patient

Apple thought "we will announce something we cannot make, other brands will 'copy' the idea and actually bring a working product to the market. And then we will stamp our logo on that and claim it as our idea"
And now when noone did bring that, even Apple apparently forgot it announced something like that. LOL nice play, Apple

                        Be brave and admit failure.

Then return the jacks to us.

Marketing the iPhone 8/X around a non existent feature? - sounds like misleading advertising

Well Tim Crook and his big fail as a company which he got from Steeve.
Well i never expected this will works and i was right.
Apple cant cooperate with its self how new things can cooperate with their products???

Anonymous, 24 Sep 2018idk... more intuitive, i mean, technically i guess. though ... moreThe wear and tear are mostly if you are not handling it accurately, or inadvertently push or pull the cable/device. Personally I have only once in the last decades had a device with a problematic port, many many years ago (If I remember right it was a laptop), that needed me to open and re-solder the plug. But I have fixed a lot of devices for my friends...

And I have thrown away quite a number of different types of cables over the years, including a number of Micro-USB and Lightning cables. The very thin connector make them really vulnerable, especially in a car - and luckily it is usually the cable that breaks/bends/loosens first...

And yeah "Intuitive" is perhaps not the concise term. "Simple" or "straight forward" to use, would perhaps be better terms. :-)

AirPower what? Meanwhile, Apple has halted iPhone X production which never even get to use the wireless charging feature till this day. Apple just talk and no action. They couldnt even afford to put fast charger brick in the box yet still put a high price tag. Just a cheap slow charger is included. And the new 2018 iphones dont even come with dongle anymore. Scamming Apple just sucking consumers money.

All show and no go. Typical from Apple.

But come'on, it's "only" been more than a year since they showed it. "Coming Soon".

disabilities/impairments in particular and IP rating could be valid reasons, though, yeah
