They don't have it because they are unable to make it.
They are waiting for someone else to bring it before them, rebrand it into a propritary product with that "logo", sell it at 3x price, because, you know, at their CEO says "Innovation is expensive".
And the fanboys still will be trying their best with the "Apple doesn't bring half baked products, they perfect other devices and then sell in the market" statement.

When other companies are using 2x, 3x, 4x fast charging and wireless charging at their phones. Apple meanwhile hasn't even release a wireless charging.

Apple have to use the Qi standard.. But by going standard means the charger can charge anything that's using the Qi standard including Samsung and its other competitor.. Apple wants to make a wireless charger that would only charge Apple products.. Until Apple is able to solve this problem we will not see an Apple branded wireless charger..
P/S: Imagine some Chinese phone explode whilst being on top of an Apple wireless charger.. Will it affect its reputation?

Apple is a wireless lover. They better get this working!
its a ticking time bomb for cutting the jack. Typical iPhone users now needs 3 wires for their day.. 1 for airpod, 1 for watch, 1 for phone. Advance users need 5!! 1 for airpod, 1 for watch, 1 for ipad, 1 for macbook, 1 for phone.
Android users have no such problems.. typical users only have phone.. they hate watches.. and run windows rigs.. which already and always plugged in.

Anonymous, 24 Sep 2018what i still don't understand is, what problem does "wirele... moreEven though wireless charging energy wise comes with a waste of power it IS more intuitive to use. AND you avoid the wear and tear on the connector/cable. And people with large hands, poor eyesight or just slightly clumsy would love not to need to fiddle with a plug. Not to mention IP-ratings...
Older wireless chargers/devices wasted half the energy as heat, but they are better now.
The efficiency of the same Qi plate is clearly higher with a Sammy S8, than an older BB Priv.
Even with multiple coils the alignment could be an issue. I guess a misalignment could reduce the efficiency. And what about the communication, could a multi coil solution be interfering?

If Apple doesn't care about wireless charging, then bring back metal rears.

I'm tired of seeing this f***ing "AirPower" news since the release of these new iPhones!!! Next year Apple will come up with $200 wireless charging pad & then these people will be happy. They just want to give MORE money for Apple.

what i still don't understand is, what problem does "wireless" charging solve that a simple power strip can't? eliminating the charging port? that one's also used for wired data transfer, even between Apple devices (afaik), so probably no.
i see the benefit for something like a wireless mouse (see Logitech's Powerplay) where it charges the device while using it, but for phones and similar?

Yeah. We're not waiting for that.
Instead, I'm waiting for Apple to include fast charger.
