iPhone is still the best phone, if you own a smartwatch / mac / car. I experience both, so dont say anything if you do not have.
Apple watch is better then all smartwatches
Wireless Carplay destroys Android Auto wireless
People who are in the same situation, will find it terrible to move to android.. thus Apple can give such high prices without getting no sales.
Sure you can brag feature this, feature that, boring this boring that. But there is no dispute in the real world which is better, which is a compromise.
But i have a suggestion.. if you are poor, and want iPhone as a status symbol.. PLEASE do not... its not worth it.. you better off with android.

Apple iPhones stand on their own as they run custom Ax chip and iOS. You cannot make direct comparison with Android.
What this shows is how overpriced Samsung and Pixel phones are. Seriously, why pay $1k for a Samsung/OnePlus when you can just pay $300 for a Pocofone? They run the latest SD845 and Android, so you don't miss anything. And it's not like Samsung is supporting their phones for 5 years anyway like Apple despite the premium, so might as well get a $300 Pocofone.
I mean really, if you want to criticize how expensive iPhones are, criticize how expensive Samsung/Pixel compared to Xiaomi.

The iphones are just priced that way. And Apple has managed to get away with it for the longest time. It's called prestige pricing /prestige marketing and has nothing to do with the phone's real value, capability, and functionality to satisfy a phone user's need (other than the need to show his/her social status). Thus while an iphone may be inferior to android phones in terms of value, camera performance, screen quality, real (as contrasted to perceived) software user experience, hardware features (dual sim, micro sd card expansion, headphone jack, under display fps, etc.), customization, etc., for as long as the iPhones retain some semblance of superiority in some aspects (bionic processor speed, app store first exclusives, fast update and aftersales support), then image conscious people will always be WILLING VICTIMS of Apple's prestige marketing, in the same way people would buy a Philippe Patek luxury watch for the price of a Toyota sedan. I'm not sure though if Apple can hold on to this marketing strategy because unlike luxury watches which retain their value due to precious metals used and true longevity of the mechanical watch (can become heirloom and passednon to several generations), Apple's iPhones and watches depreciate in value rapidly as do all electronics items/commodities.

The biggest let down of iphones is not the price, it is ios- crappy and limited os. I can buy a gold plated iphone X but didn't because that mediocre os.

People who have money just go and buy them Apples. They dont even open any website for reviews, or even comparisons. Its the status symbol that they are after, and not the specs.
Those who cant afford Apples complain here. No one is forcing anyone to buy an apple.

I also had to weigh on things and make a smart decision when I was thinking of choosing between S9+ and iPhone X (back then *$999). Waking up in reality, I just thought that I get more value for money with my S9+ with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage (plus exapnsion slot) at $1k. It's all worth it and it even comes with Fast charger. To be honest though, it really makes me think as to why people are so into hype when a new iPhone is released when it has small upgrades, same looks and higher price. People just put all these frustrating and less value for money things to a Billion dollar company. I just save myself from being fooled.

Well here in my country, the minimal wage is just about 580€, while the iPhone XS Max Plus Xtra Large Mcbacon with 512calories goes for 1679€... Just about 2.89 times the minimal wage.

My first and the last iPhone was the iPhone 6S Plus which I didn't even use for a year, switched to Galaxy S7 which is still my favourite! Man it was way waaay better than 6S Plus, the camera, the display, the looks, the form factor, everything was better plus it had tons of features not like the boring iPhone!
