The only way to project in air an image may be to fill the air with a screen of steam, to reflect back images, but impossible in in clean air or void. Photons travel in straight direction and do not interact with other photons, they can overlap with other photons and must be reflected by solids to the eyes to be visible or beamed into eyes directly by the emitor, in direct line, so cannot come to the eyes from mid clean air.

a three-dimensional image formed by the INTERFERENCE of light beams from a laser or other coherent light source.
--by this definition, it means the light beams are stopped mid-air to form the three-dimensional image. what you are talking about is simply 3d rendering on a flat surface, and that's not hologram.

GSMarena is not super biased like many websites are in favor of apple. I know Red makes some expensive gear and many people love the brand. I don't know enough to know if it is as overpriced as Apple. I know a few accessories are overpriced.
I'm just wondering if Red is so high because of lower production, absolute best camera phone in pocket, charging for the brand name or dipping their toes in the water to see how well received they are and step up their game on Hydrogen 2.0 to make OEMs look like amateurs in photography. I hope to see a demo of the screen. Initial comments say it does look holographic but nothing special. It can't shown on a video. For now, holograms are still a distant dream. If Red steps in with an awesome camera getting mentioned with top 5 phones with good cameras and stays on top of bugs and updates and pull good battery life it might get a niche market but they need to stand out from the rest if they want to charge like they are.

The most hyped phone in the last 2-3 years (even more than iPhones). And most of the tech is from other companies (starting from the display which is Leica tech).
This phone will finally be released in 2019. Not sure whether any of that tech will be valid then.

s-pen pusher, 22 Sep 2018i dont think this is holographic at all as they claimed- me... morePhotons cannot stop in the mid air to build images, that is cheap SF movies. All current holographic images are created with lasers passing through a screen which memorized the hologram and the viewer sees such image built on the screen from different angles, slightly different but never in mid air. Please read wikipedia and you see what is possible to be done in these days about holograms, far cry from SF movies.
